Location: MAS: MAS Building
[What the role is]
Sustainability is integral to Singapore’s long-term growth strategy and economic resilience. At the same time, the global environment for climate action is becoming more complex. Governments, businesses and financial institutions will need to remain nimble, responding to evolving climate-related risks while capturing new economic and investment opportunities.
Against this backdrop, the MAS Sustainability Group plays an important role to support FIs in enabling the regional low carbon transition needs:
i) Energy Transition – supporting financing solutions that enable Asia’s shift towards lower-carbon energy systems, while taking into account energy security, access and affordability;
ii) Adaptation and Resilience – developing and scaling financing solutions to mobilise capital for the region’s climate- and nature-related resilience needs; and
iii) Carbon markets – supporting financial institutions in building capabilities and participating across the carbon market value chain, from project financing and risk mitigation to carbon credit trading.
You will be part of a central team responsible for developing and implementing strategies and initiatives across these areas. Working closely with relevant departments across MAS as well as government and industry partners, you will contribute to efforts to strengthen Singapore’s position as a leading climate and resilience financing centre.
