Every great store starts with a great decision about where to put it. As our Location Planner, you'll make those decisions. You'll use catchment data, market intelligence and commercial insight to work out where Argos should open, invest and grow, and where we can serve more customers.
Your recommendations will go into our estate strategy and board level decisions. They'll shape how millions of customers shop with us. You'll work closely with the Property team and with external data partners. You'll turn complex data into clear, confident advice that moves the business forward.
If you love finding the story in the numbers and seeing your work turn into real stores on real high streets, this role is for you.
What you'll be doing
- Producing accurate, evidence led sales forecasts and board papers for new stores, extensions, trade transfers and existing store investments.
- Running catchment analysis to spot gaps in market coverage, untapped headroom and incremental sales opportunities.
- Recommending the right size, format and offer for new stores and extensions, backed by a robust network plan.
- Combining customer, digital, competitor and store performance insight to shape location recommendations.
- Contributing location planning expertise to lease renewals, store trials, post investment reviews and board papers.
- Owning the requirements for, and effective use of, our data, models and analytical tools. You'll work with internal teams and external partners to deliver market leading location planning.
- Managing external data and analytical partners with clear briefs, strong quality control and real value from their expertise.
- Partnering with the wider Property team to assess the commercial viability of new and existing sites across the UK. You'll keep your knowledge of the retail landscape and population trends up to date.
