Every Argos store and building needs to be safe for the colleagues and customers who use it. As our Compliance Manager, you'll make sure that happens. You'll lead the way we manage Facilities Management (FM) compliance across the estate, working with our compliance service delivery contractor and FM service providers to build a high performing safety and compliance culture.
This role matters because statutory compliance work has to be scheduled and completed on time. You'll lead a team that keeps stakeholders informed from the first issue through to resolution. When a major safety incident, near miss or injury affects a site's ability to operate, you'll help drive the investigation. You'll work with a wide range of internal and external partners, and your decisions will directly affect the safety of our buildings and the people in them.
What you'll be doing
- Working closely with compliance service providers to make sure all planned preventative maintenance and remedial actions are completed, keeping our buildings safe and compliant
- Managing the scheduling of statutory planned preventative maintenance through our computer aided FM system, making sure it's delivered within the required timeframes
- Keeping maintenance schedules accurate and up to date, reflecting current service providers and tasks, in partnership with the wider FM team
- Producing compliance performance data against key FM measures and reporting regularly to stakeholders
- Presenting updates on safety and compliance performance, innovation and changes to ways of working to the right forums at the right time
- Challenging non completion of planned maintenance and remedial actions, and holding providers to account for compliance
- Working with the FM team to facilitate contractor investigations following safety incidents, and keeping stakeholders updated on findings and next steps
- Partnering with Health and Safety, Procurement and the wider FM team to spot legislative changes and compliance gaps, and regularly reviewing providers so they stay fit for purpose, innovative and efficient
What experience you'll bring (essential skills)
Strong Facilities Management and/or compliance management experience
Significant stakeholder management experience, with the confidence to present to and influence senior managers, both internally and externally
Proven leadership skills, including the ability to manage and motivate remote teams to improve the performance of external suppliers
Experience working with cross functional teams and multiple service providers
Creative problem solving, using data analysis to inform decisions and find solutions to store compliance and safety challenges
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
A good understanding of business performance, and the ability to help the supply chain see the impact of its decisions
Strong attention to detail when assessing supplier performance, and the ability to represent Argos FM in compliance and safety forums while demonstrating our values and strategic thinking
