Digital Portfolio QA Manager

Kidde Global Solutions is seeking an experienced Digital Portfolio QA Manager to lead quality assurance for mobile, web, cloud, desktop software, API, and connected digital applications. The role will build and guide a strong QA team, strengthen automation and testing practices, adopt practical AI methods in day-to-day QA work, and ensure reliable, secure, and scalable digital experiences across IoT, intrusion, video, and access-control product ecosystems Role Overview The Digital Portfolio QA Manager will be responsible for defining and executing the QA approach across web, mobile, API, cloud, desktop software, and connected product platforms.

This includes planning test coverage, improving automation, using AI to make testing faster and smarter, managing release readiness, and driving measurable quality outcomes for applications and tools used to configure, commission, monitor, and manage hardware devices. Key Responsibilities The role is accountable for team leadership, QA planning, automation, AI adoption in testing, and release confidence across mobile, web, API, cloud, desktop software, and connected digital applications.

Key responsibilities include: QA strategy and ownership: Define and continuously improve the quality engineering strategy for web, mobile, API, cloud, desktop software, and connected digital application releases in alignment with product, engineering, and business objectives. Team leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of QA engineers responsible for mobile and web-based digital applications, promoting accountability, engineering discipline, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

AI adoption in QA: Use practical AI methods to improve testing, including AI-assisted test case creation, test data generation, automation support, defect analysis, risk identification, and quality reporting. Testing and automation methods: Lead manual, automated, regression, integration, API, mobile, web, desktop, and end-to-end testing using scalable frameworks, reusable test assets, CI/CD integration, and clear effectiveness metrics.

Digital application quality: Ensure functional, usability, compatibility, accessibility, performance, security, integration, and regression quality across Android, iOS, responsive web applications, portals, APIs, desktop tools, and cloud-connected workflows. IoT and security-domain alignment: Apply a fair understanding of IoT application behavior, device-to-cloud interactions, mobile app connectivity, user workflows, and system integrations; experience in intrusion, video, access control, security panels or connected security ecosystems is highly appreciated.

Release governance and metrics: Establish release-readiness criteria, quality dashboards, defect governance, traceability, risk-based testing, and executive-level reporting to provide transparent quality signals and data-driven release recommendations. Continuous improvement: Improve test productivity, automation value, defect detection, regression cycle time, release predictability, and customer quality through better processes, metrics, and AI-enabled testing improvements.

Cross-functional influence: Partner closely with product management, engineering, architecture, DevOps, customer support, and program teams to align quality priorities, resolve risks, improve product reliability, and deliver customer-ready digital products. Education BE, B.Tech., ME, or M.Tech. in Electronics, Communication, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline. Experience and Technical Qualifications Minimum 12+ years of experience in software quality engineering, digital application testing, test automation, or QA leadership roles, including substantial experience managing QA teams for product-based mobile, web, API, cloud, desktop software, or connected application platforms.

Managerial QA leadership: Proven experience leading QA teams, defining team goals, managing delivery commitments, reviewing quality metrics, coaching engineers, and influencing engineering and product stakeholders in a product development environment. Mobile, web, and desktop application QA: Strong experience testing Android, iOS, responsive web applications, portals, desktop software used to configure and manage hardware devices, APIs, user workflows, cross-browser behavior, device compatibility, integration flows, and cloud-connected digital services.

AI and automation outcomes: Demonstrated track record of using AI in QA processes to achieve measurable outcomes such as increased automation coverage, faster regression execution, improved defect prediction, reduced manual effort, better test design quality, and stronger release confidence. Automation and toolchain expertise: Hands-on background with modern automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Appium, Robot Framework, PyTest, Postman, API automation, JIRA, X-Ray or equivalent test management platforms.

Preferred domain experience: Fair understanding of IoT applications, device connectivity, cloud integrations, mobile-to-device interactions, and connected product behavior; prior exposure to intrusion, video surveillance, access control, security monitoring, or smart building/security domains is highly appreciated. Leadership and Managerial Competencies People leadership and ownership: Builds and leads high-performing QA teams with clear ownership, accountability, mentoring, performance orientation, and commitment to product quality outcomes.

Strategic execution: Converts product priorities into practical QA plans, balances hands-on technical judgment with managerial decision-making, removes execution barriers, and escalates risks with clarity. Stakeholder communication: Communicates quality status, automation progress, AI adoption impact, release risks, and improvement plans effectively to engineering leaders, product owners, program teams, and business stakeholders.
