Energy Aspects Consulting

Freight Analyst

London, United Kingdom In person Full-time

Energy Aspects has an exciting new opportunity in our freight team, based in either London or Athens. We are looking for an analyst with a strong shipping background to play a central role in our coverage of the clean and dirty tanker markets, supporting our freight analysis and forecasts and supporting our wider crude and products research and Maritime Analytics service. Responsibilities will include fundamental analysis of oil tanker markets and freight rate forecasts.

The successful candidate will be expected to hold a strong, data-backed view on forward freight markets. Experience in maintaining and advancing the models that underpin our freight outlook, using our proprietary vessel tracking and maritime intelligence data, will be key. You will be responsible for both numerical and written outputs to our clients, including weekly commentary on the clean and dirty tanker markets, communicating complex information effectively to an audience with varying levels of technical expertise, alongside responding to client queries and ad hoc requests.

This will entail working closely with our crude and products markets teams on arbitrage analysis and key trade flow trends, ensuring our freight views are fully integrated into our wider market analysis. There may also be opportunities to present at conferences and client meetings, while attend events and interact with the media. The role demands adaptability and a commitment to excellence as part of a collaborative team.

We encourage all our team members to cultivate their professional standing within the industry, backed by some of the industry's most esteemed commentators. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and possess the organisational skills necessary for planning and prioritising tasks to achieve outstanding results. In exchange, we offer excellent remuneration, a high-performance culture, with challenging and exciting work.
