Energy Aspects has an exciting, newly created opportunity for a Power Analyst to join our growing North American research team, based in New York. The successful candidate will have experience analysing and communicating views on US power markets, backed by strong data analysis, writing and presentation skills. You will need to have strong data analysis skills and will work in a combination of excel and Python. You will assist in running, and enhancing, our in-house power market modelling tools but this role is not purely data science as you will be expected to produce written research on changes to the US electricity system and how these impact power market prices.
This is a client facing role and you will be expected to have the ability to present your work clearly and communicate effectively with clients at all levels. Our clients value our forecasts and market views and our analytical work is focused on creating forward looking views backed by data. Ideally, you will have experience in forecasting methods, timeseries analysis, statistics and energy economics and we will help you develop these skills further.
This position will require flexibility and the drive to go beyond the core hours when needed, ensuring we all fulfil our goals. All team members are encouraged to build their professional reputation within the industry. You must be able to work independently, as well as be capable of planning and prioritising to achieve success. In exchange, we offer excellent remuneration, a high-performance culture and challenging and exciting work.
Our team has a deep intellectual curiosity for the power system and energy markets, and the policy and technology changes that are driving it. To be part of this team you will need to demonstrate this too.
