Epiroc Energy

Software Developer, C++

Örebro, Sweden In person Full-time

Would you like to develop software that moves beyond the screen and into real mining machines? Join a highly experienced team in Örebro and work close to both the code and the hardware behind advanced video and remote-control solutions.

Join our team

We are looking for a Software Developer to join a five-person team developing video software for Epiroc machines. The team combines deep technical experience with a collaborative way of working, giving you strong support while also creating room to contribute with new ideas.

The solutions include camera systems such as surround-view functionality as well as base-system software for connected remote-control panels. You will work in an environment where the distance between software and hardware is short, and where developers can test their solutions in the lab and, at times, in mining environments.

Your mission

As a Software Developer, you will design, build and improve software used in Epiroc equipment for the mining industry. Your main focus will be C++ development for video systems, with some work connected to remote machine control. You will collaborate closely with other developers and contribute throughout the development cycle, from design and code review to testing and integration.

Design and develop robust software, primarily in C++.

Collaborate with experienced developers through technical discussions, reviews and shared problem-solving.

Test solutions in the target lab and, when relevant, on real machines.

Contribute to integration testing and continuous improvement of the team’s products and ways of working.

Your profile

You are curious, eager to learn and comfortable taking initiative. Because the role involves a broad and technically advanced product area, your motivation to build new knowledge is just as important as the number of years you have worked. You enjoy collaborating in a team, sharing ideas and turning complex challenges into practical solutions.

We believe you have

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a similar field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience with C++ software development. Experience from embedded systems, Linux, robotics or video technology is an advantage.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to communicate and work effectively with others.
  • Experience with Python, Pytest, Git, Azure or modern frontend frameworks such as React is beneficial. We welcome applications from both experienced developers and recent graduates who have strong technical foundations and the drive to grow into the role.

Location and other

This position is located in Örebro, Sweden. The role is daytime-based and requires a close connection to the team, the laboratory and the physical products.
