About us

Ericsson is launching a new R&D center in Yokohama dedicated to radio and software development. This hub will collaborate with leading Japanese CSPs and local vendors to deliver innovative products for global networks. We are hiring engineers at all experience levels to join our team and help develop advanced 5G/6G radio systems. The center aims to strengthen Ericsson’s ties with Japan’s technology ecosystem and accelerate the delivery of high-performance radio solutions worldwide.

What you will do

• Develop software for next-generation wireless communication systems (5G/6G), including embedded and AI-related features.
• Work in an agile, cross-functional team and participate in the full product lifecycle: requirements analysis, coding, integration, testing, release and customer delivery.
• Design and implement system architecture, contribute to software system design principles, and develop/optimize complex algorithms.
• Perform software development primarily in C++ within a complex system architecture involving both software and hardware components.
• Create and maintain automated tests (preferably using Java) to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with global R&D teams, troubleshoot complex system issues, and contribute beyond your primary area of expertise.

The skills you bring

• You have a Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Communications, Automation, or related fields (Master’s preferred; outstanding undergraduates welcome).
• Knowledge and experience in embedded or application software development using objective-oriented C++ and Java.
• Skilled in Python, Shell, and SQL scripting.
• Familiarity with AI/ML algorithms (e.g., CNN, DNN, RNN, Reinforcement Learning) and frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch is a plus.
• System Platform and Hardware/Networking
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix development environments, GCC, GDB, Makefile, and inter-process/thread communication.
• Experience with Jenkins, GIT, Eclipse, VSCode, and continuous integration/automated testing.
• Basic hardware programming knowledge; understanding of processor subsystems, hardware interfaces (e.g., DDR, PCIe), and driver development preferred.
• Familiarity with cloud-native concepts, front-end/back-end separation, and networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP) is advantageous.
• Strong system architecture design and problem-solving skills.
• You have good communication skills; Able to work both in English and Japanese.

職務内容

次世代無線通信システム（5G/6G）向けのソフトウェア開発（組み込みソフトウェアおよびAI関連機能を含む）

アジャイルのクロスファンクショナルチームで、要件分析、コーディング、統合、テスト、リリース、顧客向け提供まで、製品ライフサイクル全体に参画

システムアーキテクチャの設計、ソフトウェア設計原則の策定、複雑なアルゴリズムの開発・最適化

ソフトウェアとハードウェアが高度に連携するシステムアーキテクチャ上で、主にC++を用いたソフトウェア開発

品質向上のため、自動テストの作成・管理（主にJavaを想定）

グローバルR&Dチームと協働し、複雑なシステム課題の解析・解決を担当するとともに、自身の専門領域以外にも積極的に貢献

• 必須要件
• コンピュータサイエンス、電子工学、通信工学、制御工学、または関連分野の学士号以上（修士歓迎）
• 組込みソフトウェアまたはアプリケーションソフトウェア開発の経験（C++、Java）
• Python、Shell、SQL などのスクリプト言語の使用経験
• Linux/Unix 環境での開発経験（GCC、GDB、Makefile など）

Jenkins、Git、Eclipse、VS Codeを用いた開発経験、およびCI（継続的インテグレーション）や自動テスト環境の利用経験

• システムアーキテクチャ設計能力および優れた問題解決能力
• 良好なコミュニケーション能力を有し、英語日本語での業務に抵抗がない方
• 歓迎要件

TensorFlow、PyTorch などのフレームワーク利用経験

分散システム、クラウドネイティブ、マイクロサービスの理解

TCP/IP をはじめとしたネットワークプロトコルの理解

基本的なハードウェアプログラミング経験

DDR、PCIe などのハードウェアインターフェースの理解

ドライバ開発に関する知識

グローバル環境での業務経験、または海外チームとの協働意欲

技術の新規習得や改善提案に積極的に取り組める方
