Build the infrastructure that enables autonomous drones to operate reliably at scale.
At sees.ai, we're solving a complex engineering challenge: building the cloud infrastructure, software delivery systems and operational tooling that enable autonomous aircraft to be deployed and managed reliably at scale.
Our technology is already being used to inspect critical national infrastructure. Now, as we scale our operations in the UK and internationally, we're looking for a Lead Platform & Reliability Engineer to take ownership of the systems, tooling and processes that underpin reliable software delivery.
This is an opportunity to combine Platform Engineering, DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering in a role with genuine technical ownership, where the decisions you make will directly influence how an ambitious robotics business scales.
Why sees.ai?
We're building the operating system for large-scale autonomous drone operations, transforming how critical infrastructure is inspected.
With significant commercial traction, international expansion underway and a Series A funding round on the horizon, we're entering an exciting new phase of growth. It's a rare opportunity to join at a pivotal stage and help shape the engineering infrastructure that will support our next phase of scaling.
The challenge
As our fleet and operations grow, so does the complexity of building, testing, deploying and managing software across cloud infrastructure and autonomous systems in the field.
How do we make deployments consistently reliable, reproducible and traceable? How do we monitor the health of our systems, identify issues early and ensure our infrastructure scales with the business?
You'll take the lead in answering these questions, building on our existing systems and working closely with software engineering and operations to develop the infrastructure, automation and engineering practices that support our growth.
What you'll be doing
- Owning and evolving our AWS cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
- Improving software release management, version control and traceability across cloud and deployed systems.
- Building monitoring, observability and automation to improve reliability and operational efficiency.
- Developing tooling and processes to support software deployment and updates across our autonomous fleet.
- Setting technical direction and engineering standards, working closely with our software, integration and operations teams.
What we're looking for
We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Platform, DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer who has taken ownership of infrastructure and software delivery in a fast-moving, evolving engineering environment.
You'll have experience making technical decisions, introducing new tools and processes, and building reliable systems without relying on a large, established infrastructure team.
You'll bring
Cloud infrastructure: Strong AWS experience, including designing, deploying and operating production environments.
CI/CD and automation: Experience building and owning automated build, test and deployment pipelines, ideally using GitHub Actions or similar.
Linux and scripting: Strong Linux knowledge and proficiency with Python, Bash or equivalent.
Infrastructure and tooling: Practical experience with technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible and infrastructure-as-code.
Reliability engineering: Experience implementing monitoring, observability, alerting and incident management, using tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
Experience with embedded Linux, hardware-in-the-loop testing, remote software deployment or connected devices would be particularly valuable, but isn't essential.
Above all, we're looking for someone who has built and owned these capabilities, not simply worked within them. You'll be comfortable taking responsibility, making pragmatic decisions and balancing immediate delivery needs with long-term reliability and scalability.
You'll enjoy working across different engineering disciplines, getting hands-on with complex problems and seeing your solutions through from design to production.
Why join us?
You'll work alongside talented engineers across software, robotics, hardware integration and operations, with direct exposure to systems already deployed in the real world.
We're a friendly, collaborative and ambitious team where people share ideas openly, take ownership and enjoy solving difficult problems together.
You'll have the opportunity to shape a critical engineering capability, work on unusual technical challenges and see the impact of your work as we scale internationally.
Location: London or Chichester - Hybrid working
Competitive salary and share options, you'll own a piece of what you build.
A serious technical problem with a real-world result, in a company that has already proved the hard regulatory part.
A small, senior team where your work is visible and your opinion counts
