Evolito Defense & Aerospace

Senior Power Electronics Engineer

Bicester, United Kingdom In person Full-time

Location: Bicester

Evolito’s mission is to accelerate the adoption of electric propulsion in aerospace applications in support of a net-zero world. We will help to revolutionise personal mobility and transform our towns and cities with clean, noise-free air transportation.

Evolito develops and manufactures class-leading, lightweight, high-power, and high-torque-density electric propulsion systems for a range of aerospace markets, including EVTOL, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and General Aviation.

As well as ultra-high performance, low-weight electric motors and controllers, Evolito specialises in high integrity, bespoke battery systems for the aerospace and defence markets. The team is scaling rapidly and has ambitious growth plans over the next twelve to eighteen months.

As part of our current high-growth phase, we are looking for a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to design and develop power electronics for electric propulsion systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance with stringent aerospace standards.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Design and developmentof high-voltage (>400V to1kV) three-phase inverter systems for electric propulsion
  • Undertake analysisof three phase inverters including dynamic switching characteristics, efficiency andthermal
  • Design differential and common mode filters forhigh voltage applications
  • Design failure detection and protection systems forhigh voltage wide bandgap devices
  • Manage the complete lifecycle of electronics design, encompassing analysis, schematic capture, PCB layout, component selection, and design verification
  • Conduct formal design reviews, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and laboratory validation ofpowerelectronic system
  • Lead root-cause investigations of failures and define corrective actions, coordinating cross-functional teams and applying structured problem-solving methodologies
  • Deliver technical reports and design documentation to support certification activities and regulatory approvals
  • Ensure adherence to Evolito’s internal standards as well as applicable aviation industry regulations
  • Contribute to the advancement of departmental technologies, capabilities, facilities, and processes
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers within the team.
