Job Title
About your role
SAP PO BTP Integration Suite Senior Developer leads the design, development, migration, and support of enterprise integration solutions across SAP and non-SAP platforms. You will work with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, application teams, and platform teams to build secure, scalable, and maintainable integrations. This role matters because it enables reliable data exchange, supports modernization from SAP Process Orchestration (PO) to SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) Integration Suite, and improves operational stability across critical business systems.
What you'll do
Design, develop, test, and deploy integration solutions using SAP BTP Integration Suite, including Cloud Integration and Cloud Platform Integration (CPI).
Develop and maintain integration flows, application programming interfaces (APIs), event-driven integrations, and file-based interfaces across SAP and third-party systems.
Implement integrations using Representational State Transfer (REST) APIs, Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) web services, Open Data Protocol (OData) services, Intermediate Document (IDoc), Remote Function Call (RFC), Business Application Programming Interface (BAPI), Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS), and message queue technologies.
Build complex message mappings using graphical mapping, Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations (XSLT), XML Path Language (XPath), and Groovy scripting.
Partner with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and translate functional and technical needs into integration designs and delivery plans.
Define integration patterns, standards, reusable frameworks, and technical design approaches that improve consistency, scalability, and supportability.
Participate in integration architecture reviews and design workshops for enterprise initiatives involving SAP S/4HANA, SAP RISE, SuccessFactors, Ariba, Azure, Snowflake, and third-party applications.
Configure and support SAP BTP Integration Suite capabilities, including Cloud Integration, API Management, Event Mesh, and Open Connectors, along with role assignments, service provisioning, runtime management, and environment configuration.
Lead migration of interfaces from SAP Process Integration/Process Orchestration (PI/PO) to SAP BTP Integration Suite by assessing current-state integrations, recommending modernization approaches, developing migration plans, executing testing, and supporting production deployment.
Monitor interface health, message processing logs, and API traffic; troubleshoot failures and performance issues; implement proactive alerting; and coordinate issue resolution with application, infrastructure, and business teams.
Responsibilities listed are not intended to be all-inclusive and may be modified as necessary.
Experience you'll need to have
- 10+ years of experience in SAP integration development within enterprise environments using SAP middleware, interfaces, and integration patterns.
- 7+ years of experience designing and delivering SAP integration solutions using technologies such as REST, SOAP, OData, IDoc, RFC, BAPI, SFTP, HTTPS, and file-based interfaces.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with SAP BTP Integration Suite, including Cloud Integration, Cloud Platform Integration (CPI), API Management, Event Mesh, or Open Connectors.
- 3+ years of experience leading or supporting migration of interfaces from SAP PI/PO or SAP Process Orchestration (PO) to SAP BTP Integration Suite.
- 5+ years of experience developing message mappings, transformations, and scripts using Groovy, XSLT, XPath, XML, JSON, XSD, or similar integration technologies.
- 3+ years of experience implementing secure integrations using OAuth 2.0, certificates, JSON Web Token (JWT) authentication, SAP Cloud Connector, or similar security and connectivity mechanisms.
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.
Experience that would be great to have
- Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA, SAP RISE, SuccessFactors, Ariba, Azure, Snowflake, or other cloud platform integrations.
- Experience defining enterprise integration standards, reusable frameworks, and modernization strategies.
- Experience with event-driven architecture, asynchronous processing, and message queue implementations.
- Experience supporting production operations, monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning for high-volume integrations.
