At Mico New Zealand, we're proud to be New Zealand's leading supplier of plumbing and bathroom products. Behind our industry-leading service is a dedicated team that keeps our operations running smoothly, and we're looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our National Support Office in Christchurch.
This is not your typical processing-focused Accounts Payable role.
If you enjoy solving problems, investigating discrepancies, working through complex supplier queries and delivering positive outcomes, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
About the Role
As part of our Accounts Payable team, you'll play an important role supporting a network of more than 60 branches, offices and distribution centres across New Zealand. You'll work with a diverse supplier base, helping ensure payments are processed accurately while building strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
A significant focus of this role is Investigation & Resolution, accounting for approximately 65% of your responsibilities. You'll take ownership of supplier queries, investigate unmatched transactions, identify root causes, and work collaboratively to achieve timely resolutions.
This is a permanent full-time role, offering 40 hours a week. Working Monday to Friday, based at our Mico Support Office Christchurch.
Key responsibilities include
- Investigating and resolving supplier account queries and payment discrepancies
- Tracking and resolving unmatched or unpaid transactions
- Reconciling supplier statements using JD Edwards and Microsoft Excel
- Processing invoices, credits and accounts payable transactions accurately
- Building positive relationships with suppliers, branches and business stakeholders
- Supporting the wider Accounts Payable team with month-end and departmental activities
- Maintaining a high level of accuracy and adherence to company procedures
- Contributing to process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
You'll be someone who thrives on solving problems and getting to the bottom of issues. You're organised, resilient, detail-focused and enjoy building strong working relationships.
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally bring
- At least two years' Accounts Payable experience
- Experience working with ERP systems such as JD Edwards or similar
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with large volumes of data
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
