Join Flight Centre Travel Group's Corporate Data & Insights team as a Data Engineer and play a key role in building the data foundations that power business decisions. You'll design and optimise scalable data solutions, ensuring reliable access to high-quality information across the organisation.

Day in the life: Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for extracting, transforming, and loading data into data lakes and lakehouse environments Create and implement data models that support business requirements and analytical outcomes Integrate data from internal and external systems to provide consistent and accurate information assets Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with data governance requirements Optimise data platforms, infrastructure, and processes to improve performance and scalability Build reliable data solutions capable of handling large volumes of information Implement security controls that protect sensitive data and support privacy requirement Collaborate with BI Developers, Data Scientists, Data Architects, Infrastructure Engineers, Application Engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver data assets Evaluate and recommend emerging data engineering tools and technologies Troubleshoot data issues and provide effective solutions to support smooth operations Support data-driven decision making by ensuring data is available, accessible, and fit for purpose You will thrive in the role, if you have: 4+ years’ experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Experience designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and data integration solutions Proficiency in Python, SQL and Spark SQL for data transformation and processing Solid understanding of data warehousing and data modelling concepts (e.g. dimensional modelling, star schemas, medallion architecture) Hands-on experience with Azure cloud data and ETL tools, such as Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, and Databricks Experience using Git for version control and Azure DevOps for CI/CD and work management Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills The ability to work effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders What you will enjoy: 🙋🏾‍♀️Culture: you will be employed by an inclusive company that offers a team culture like no other in the industry - Flight Centre Travel Group Australia is proud to be a certified Great Place to Work® Australia New Zealand Pty Ltd 👐🏽 Our People: FCTG is an Equal Opportunity Employer and encourage all suitably qualified applicants to apply, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People and people from racial, ethnic, or ethno-religious minority groups and people with disability 🎉Development: Individualised, ongoing Learning & Development via communities of practice.
