The Team
Our Global Health division harnesses advances in science and technology to save lives in low-resource settings. We focus on health challenges that have a major impact in developing countries but often receive too little attention and funding. When effective tools exist, we support sustainable ways to improve their delivery; when they don’t, we invest in the research and development of new interventions such as vaccines, drugs, biologics, and diagnostics.
Our work targets infectious diseases like HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, neglected tropical diseases, enteric and diarrheal diseases, and pneumonia. These efforts are supported by cross-cutting teams specializing in Discovery & Translational Sciences, Vaccine Development & Surveillance, Integrated Development (IDev), and Innovation Introduction.
The Integrated Development (IDev) team comprises four core domains: Regulatory Affairs, Decision, Analyze, Communicate (DAC), Global Health Integrated Development Expertise (GHIDE), and Chemistry, Manufacturing & Controls (CMC). IDev plays a critical role in advancing the development of global health products by providing specialized expertise and support to Program Strategy Teams across the Global Health division. IDev ensures that our product development investments are guided by robust data, regulatory insight, and operational excellence.
Application Deadline: Friday, November 13, 2026
Your Role
The Director, Integrated Development, serves as a foundation leader and owner of key strategic relationships, providing guidance and oversight on how the foundation engages with critical external partners across the product development ecosystem. This role leads a team that provides deep technical expertise in product development, manufacturing, clinical trial design and regulatory affairs, and partners closely with the foundation's product strategy teams (PSTs) to guide product pipelines from late discovery through registration.
The Director provides state-of-the-art input across quantitative sciences and pharmacology, chemistry, manufacturing and controls (CMC), and regulatory strategy, and oversees a portfolio of investments (~over 400 total) that strengthen regulatory systems, advance model-based drug development, enable AI tools for product development, support novel formulation science and reduce the cost of manufacturing in support of foundation strategies.
In this role, you will play a fundamental part in accelerating the development and delivery of life-saving health solutions. You will work closely with other IDev domain leaders and Program Strategy Teams to integrate IDev’s expertise into product development plans, streamlining efforts from early development through regulatory approval and introduction. By fostering strong partnerships both internally and externally, you will ensure that our investments move through critical decision points efficiently and align with the Foundation’s mission to improve health equity.
