IT Support Engineer- 1st/2nd Line

My Client In Manchester is looking for a 1st/2nd Line Support Engineer. You’ll be hands-on with the day to day running and maintenance of systems, and the focal point for our users for whatever problems they may have.

Working independently, you’ll be a skilled problem solver, troubleshooting a variety of technical challenges, assisting with cyber-security initiatives, and taking a positive, proactive approach to your work.

The role will include

• ·Desktop maintenance (mostly Windows 10, with some Apple and Android devices)
• ·Supporting the infrastructure team with software roll-outs and patches
• ·Label and industrial Printer maintenance
• ·Application/user support – Microsoft Office365
• ·In-house custom application support (training provided)
• ·Active Directory User management
• ·Help maintaining enterprise anti-virus solutions
• ·Hardware and Software installation / fault finding
• ·To create and update in-house documentation for the IT service desk
• Essential skills
• ·Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
• ·Great communication skills (in person and via telephone) and written / spoken English
• ·Personable, with the ability to build rapport with team members and other departments
• ·Experience of Windows 10 administration
• ·Hardware and software fault finding with thorough root cause analysis
• ·Translate users’ problems into actionable requests and successful resolutions
• ·Windows PC/laptop management via Active Directory
• ·PC hardware installation and troubleshooting
• ·Knowledge of enterprise level anti-virus solutions
• ·Mobile device management including IOS and Android devices
• ·Helpdesk ticketing systems (we use Jira Service Desk)
• Desired but non-essential skills
• ·O365 administration
• ·Utilization of GPOs
• ·Administration of BT phone systems
• ·Experience with PDQ Deploy/Inventory
• ·DUO Authentication Proxy (or similar 2FA application)
• ·Exposure to Forescout or other NAC systems
• ·Cisco networking and Wi-Fi controllers
• ·BeyondTrust user administration
• ·An interest in cyber-security systems
• Training in the above areas will be provided if necessary.
