Location: Lisburn

Job Description Summary

We are seeking an experienced Manager – Digital Transformation to join the Grid Automation Digital Technology organization, based at our Lisburn site in Northern Ireland.

Lisburn is an important Grid Automation site supporting Monitoring & Diagnostics (M&D) electronic equipment manufacturing as well as Research & Development activities. The role therefore requires someone who can effectively support a technology-intensive environment spanning manufacturing operations, engineering/R&D, enterprise applications and site infrastructure.

The role combines three key areas of responsibility

-Act as the Digital Technology Site Reliability Leader for Lisburn, ensuring reliable, secure and effective DT services supporting M&D manufacturing, engineering and R&D operations.

-Plan, initiate and lead strategic Grid Automation Digital Technology projects and programs globally, working across manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, R&D, commercial and other business functions.

-Support the Grid Automation DT Project Management Office (PMO), strengthening project governance, portfolio management, prioritization, execution discipline and roadmap visibility.

The successful candidate will bring a broad Digital Technology background spanning manufacturing-site infrastructure, enterprise and business applications, business-process solutioning, SAP fundamentals, cybersecurity and project/program management.

A key expectation of the role is the ability to understand business and engineering needs and translate them into scalable, sustainable and harmonized DT solutions, promoting reuse of standard platforms and processes while minimizing unnecessary local customization.

Essential Responsibilities

Lisburn DT Site Leadership

  • Act as the primary Digital Technology point of contact for the Lisburn site, partnering closely with site leadership, manufacturing, engineering, R&D and functional teams.
  • Support the technology needs of the Grid Automation Monitoring & Diagnostics electronic equipment manufacturing operations and Research & Development organization based in Lisburn.
  • Ensure reliable and secure operation of site DT infrastructure, network connectivity, workplace technology, servers, manufacturing systems and locally deployed applications.
  • Understand critical manufacturing, engineering and R&D processes and ensure appropriate DT support, resilience, lifecycle management and business continuity.
  • Partner with manufacturing and engineering teams to understand technology requirements associated with production, testing, quality, product development and related business processes.
  • Coordinate with central infrastructure, cybersecurity, application, network and support teams to resolve operational issues and continuously improve site reliability.
  • Manage and prioritize site DT requirements, operational risks, technical debt, infrastructure improvements and local technology initiatives.
  • Support technology lifecycle planning and modernization of site infrastructure and applications.
  • Ensure alignment with corporate DT architecture, infrastructure and cybersecurity standards.
  • Ensure appropriate cybersecurity practices across site infrastructure, manufacturing systems and engineering/R&D environments, including alignment with applicable ISO 27001 and ISO 27002 information-security practices.
  • Coordinate site-level DT incident resolution and escalation, ensuring appropriate engagement of global support and technology teams where required.
  • Develop strong relationships with site stakeholders and maintain visibility of current and future DT requirements supporting business growth and operational priorities.

Global DT Projects & Programs

  • Plan, initiate and lead end-to-end Digital Technology projects and programs supporting Grid Automation globally.
  • Partner with business leaders, process owners and DT domain teams to understand business challenges, pain points and transformation opportunities.
  • Support transformation initiatives across manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, R&D, quality, commercial, finance and other enterprise functions.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable solution concepts and work with architects, SAP, infrastructure, cybersecurity and application teams to define and deliver appropriate solutions.
  • Lead business application implementation, deployment, migration and transformation initiatives across manufacturing and enterprise environments.
  • Facilitate business-process discovery and requirements definition, ensuring technology solutions address underlying process needs rather than individual application requests.
  • Drive application and process harmonization, simplification and standardization across Grid Automation.
  • Promote reuse of global platforms, common processes and standard solutions and challenge unnecessary localization or duplication.
  • Evaluate solution options considering business value, architecture, cybersecurity, integration, supportability, scalability and total cost of ownership.
  • Work effectively across global and regional teams and coordinate multiple technical and business stakeholders to deliver agreed outcomes.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, resources, dependencies, risks, issues and stakeholder communication through successful delivery and stabilization.
  • Ensure appropriate project governance, testing, business readiness, training, deployment and transition-to-support activities.
  • Monitor project outcomes and ensure delivered solutions achieve expected business benefits and remain aligned with the broader GA DT strategy and roadmap.

GA DT Project Management Office

  • Support the Grid Automation Digital Technology portfolio and roadmap management process.
  • Provide visibility of major GA DT projects and programs, including milestones, dependencies, risks, resources, financial status and delivery health.
  • Establish and reinforce consistent project governance, planning, reporting and execution practices across the GA DT organization.
  • Support project intake, evaluation and prioritization based on strategic alignment, business value, risk, urgency, resource requirements and available capacity.
  • Support development and maintenance of the overall GA DT project and transformation roadmap.
  • Prepare portfolio reviews, project health assessments, leadership-level dashboards and management reporting.
  • Track major project actions, decisions, risks and escalations and drive timely follow-up with project leaders and stakeholders.
  • Identify portfolio-level dependencies, resource constraints and execution risks and facilitate appropriate resolution or escalation.
  • Support budget planning, project financial tracking and investment visibility across the DT portfolio.
  • Promote appropriate project-management methodologies, tools, templates and governance practices.
  • Support continuous improvement of GA DT project and program-management practices.
  • Facilitate alignment across site, regional and global DT initiatives to minimize duplication and maximize reuse of common solutions.
