Do you enjoy solving problems, working with people and being part of a team that genuinely supports each other?

We’re looking for an Employee Relations Advisor to join our Employee Relations team at GV Health.

This is a role for someone who enjoys a challenge and can keep a clear head when things get a little tricky. You’ll often be one of the first people our employees and managers speak to when they need Employee Relations advice or support, so we’re looking for someone who can listen, think things through and communicate clearly.

You don’t need to have encountered every ER situation before. What’s more important to us is that you’re willing to jump in, give things a go, ask questions and keep learning.

And importantly, you won’t be doing it alone.

Whilst reporting into the ER Director, you’ll be joining a team of supportive and experienced Employee Relations Consultants who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience. When you’re unsure, there will be people around you to bounce ideas off, provide guidance and help you work through the issue. The role itself is designed so that more complex matters can be referred to an ER Consultant, and the Advisor works closely with the Director and Consultants.

What you’ll be doing

  • No two days in Employee Relations are quite the same. You’ll provide practical advice and support to employees and managers across a broad range of workplace matters, including:
  • employee relations enquiries and case management
  • interpreting Enterprise Agreements, legislation, policies and procedures
  • performance and conduct matters
  • workplace conflict, grievances and complaints
  • flexible working arrangements
  • organisational change
  • fitness for work matters and reasonable adjustments
  • classification and entitlement enquiries
  • employee and candidate declarations
  • supporting Enterprise Agreement implementation and union-related processes.
  • Who are we looking for?

We’d love to hear from you if you

enjoy dealing with people and solving problems

can stay calm and think clearly when conversations become challenging

are comfortable having difficult conversations

have good judgement and know when to ask for help

enjoy researching and working through issues rather than expecting every answer to be immediately obvious

are prepared to jump in and give something a go

can balance empathy with providing clear and practical advice

enjoy working as part of a collaborative team

have experience in HR or Employee Relations and an understanding of employment legislation, industrial instruments and workplace policies.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone with curiosity, resilience and a willingness to learn.

There will be situations where you don't immediately know the answer, and that's okay. What matters is knowing how to find it, when to ask for guidance and being willing to work through the problem. Within the team, there are experienced people to support you.

Why join our team?

You’ll be joining a team where people share their knowledge, support each other and have a laugh along the way.

Employee Relations can sometimes involve difficult situations, so having a team around you that you can talk things through with makes a difference. You'll have the opportunity to build your ER experience across a genuinely broad range of matters while working alongside experienced consultants.

If you're someone who likes variety, isn't afraid of a challenge and is willing to have a go rather than sit back and wait for someone else to solve it, we'd love to hear from you.
