Job Purpose
The Director, Digital Platforms & Integration is accountable for defining, delivering and continuously evolving the foundational digital platforms, integration capabilities and information frameworks that enable GSK's future smart manufacturing, supply chain and CMC digital ecosystem.
The role leads the strategy, execution and operational performance of the Factory Integration Layer (FIL) as a critical enterprise capability connecting manufacturing systems, laboratory platforms, engineering applications, cloud services and business processes. The position ensures that platform and integration investments create reusable, scalable and technology-agnostic capabilities that accelerate business outcomes across sites, functions and products.
The Director is accountable for the Azure Local migration strategy, establishing a modern, secure and resilient hybrid foundation for digital products, analytics, AI and industrial data solutions across the manufacturing network.
As a key leader within the CMC Acceleration Program, the role owns delivery and integration of enterprise ontologies, knowledge-management capabilities, data pipelines and information architectures that transform fragmented data into connected, contextualized and actionable knowledge. The position enables digital thread capabilities across development, technology transfer, manufacturing, quality and supply chain operations.
Working with Product Leaders, Business Process Owners, Architects, Data & AI teams, Manufacturing Technology leaders and strategic partners, the Director aligns multiple transformation initiatives while ensuring solutions remain scalable, compliant, supportable and aligned to enterprise standards.
Key Responsibilities
Define and execute the strategy, roadmap and lifecycle for the Factory Integration Layer, creating a scalable digital backbone connecting manufacturing, laboratory, quality, engineering, data and enterprise platforms.
Establish FIL as a reusable enterprise capability through standard integration patterns, event-driven services, APIs, information models and repeatable site-onboarding approaches.
Lead Azure Local migration across relevant manufacturing and operational workloads, ensuring secure cutover, continuity, validation, resilience and sustainable product and service ownership.
Own Digital Platforms & Integration deliverables for the CMC Acceleration Program, translating development, technology-transfer and manufacturing priorities into integrated platform outcomes.
Lead the creation and operational adoption of enterprise ontologies, semantic models and common information definitions that connect product, process, material, equipment, recipe and manufacturing knowledge.
Lead the team in using approved AI tools to improve productivity and ways of working, role-modelling responsible use and ensuring compliance with GSK’s Responsible AI, privacy and security requirements.
Integrate knowledge-management capabilities across scientific, development and manufacturing domains to improve information discoverability, reuse, traceability and knowledge continuity.
Define platform governance, architecture guardrails, decision rights and performance measures covering adoption, reliability, throughput, latency, data quality, service effort, security and value realization.
Scan emerging platform, integration and edge capability (vendor roadmaps, new releases), pilot the most promising and bring a ranked opportunity list into the investment forums.
Own material delivery and operational risks, ensuring appropriate governance for cyber security, data protection, quality, validation, regulatory compliance and business continuity.
Sponsor operational readiness for major releases and migrations, integrating support models, training, documentation, deployment, monitoring, service transition and user adoption.
Shape strategic supplier contributions and resolve delivery, quality, commercial or capability issues affecting multiple platforms, products, sites or programs.
Represent digital platforms, integration health, dependencies, risks and investment impacts in senior product, architecture, data, cyber and transformation governance forums.
Build a high-performing, inclusive community of platform, integration and data professionals, strengthening engineering excellence, product ownership and continuous improvement.
