Associate Tax Strategist

About the Role

The Associate Tax Strategist applies basic accounting principles to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. This role primarily involves preparing straightforward corporate entity and partnership returns, as well as personal and business income tax returns and statements for audits. The advisor is responsible for preparing, submitting, and managing simple tax statements and returns for businesses and clients. Additionally, the role provides basic financial and tax advice, requiring a foundational knowledge of relevant regulations, laws, and acts.

Prepare simple tax statements, financial statements, and Business Activity Statements (BAS) at required intervals.

Create and return statements and documents to clients by set deadlines

Prepare straightforward business income tax returns and statements for audits.

Manage basic tax administration responsibilities for assigned accounts, including tax code research, tax return preparation, and tax planning.

Identify opportunities to minimize tax liability through basic deductions and credits.

Engage regularly with clients and maintain strong relationships.

Stay current with foundational knowledge of federal and state tax laws, regulatory and compliance requirements, and basic tax planning techniques.

Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end analysis of accounts for assigned lines of business. Validate the accuracy of data from subsystems.

Process subsystems or subsidiary interfaces. Validate the accuracy and completeness of the interfaced data. Perform follow-up and resolution of identified issues.

Provide support to other Tax Strategists as appropriate.

Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience.
