We’re looking for a Client Accounting Services (CAS) Manager to lead our outsourced accounting and advisory team. In this role, you’ll serve as a fractional Controller and trusted advisor to a diverse portfolio of clients while developing the people and processes that support exceptional service.

What You’ll Do

• Build Client Relationships and Provide Practical Guidance
• Serve as the primary accounting advisor for a portfolio of business owners and executives.
• Lead client onboarding, establish expectations, and coordinate the transition of accounting responsibilities.
• Translate financial results into clear, actionable guidance that helps clients manage operations and plan for growth.
• Oversee Accounting and Financial Reporting
• Oversee and review full-cycle accounting, including complex month-end and year-end closes.
• Review reconciliations, journal entries, general ledger activity, and supporting workpapers for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare, review, and present monthly financial reporting packages.
• Lead and Develop the Team
• Supervise, mentor, and review the work of staff and senior accountants.
• Allocate workloads, establish priorities, and monitor engagement progress.
• Provide clear expectations, timely feedback, and opportunities for professional development.
• Improve Technology and Processes
• Evaluate and implement cloud accounting tools and automated workflows that fit client needs.
• Work with platforms such as QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, Bill.com, and Expensify.
• Standardize processes to improve accuracy, consistency, and efficiency.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA, CMA, or EA credential strongly preferred.
• At least five years of progressive accounting experience, including at least two years in a public accounting CAS practice, outsourced controllership, or another environment serving multiple clients.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Experience managing client relationships and explaining financial information in clear, practical language.
• Experience supervising, mentoring, or reviewing the work of accounting professionals.
• Advanced proficiency with cloud general ledger systems and tools that automate accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Strong Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables, and financial modeling.
• Ability to independently manage competing priorities, recognize issues, and exercise sound judgment.
• An approachable communication style that helps clients and colleagues feel comfortable asking questions.
• Interest in improving processes, adopting technology, and helping a growing practice evolve.
