Hassell Services Consulting

Talent Advisor

Melbourne, Australia Hybrid Full-time

With eight design studios spread around the world, chances are you’ve seen our work before.

We work across architecture, landscape architecture, interior design and urban design - a rich multi-disciplinary mix of skills and perspectives that unlocks the economic, social and cultural value of projects.

We combine our creative design expertise with capabilities in strategy, research, technology and experience design, and we regularly collaborate with experts and partners from further afield.

Through our work, we're trying to build a more inclusive, sustainable future for communities - and create a more socially and ecologically resilient world.

We’re looking for a Talent Advisor who enjoys building relationships, working with people data and finding practical ways to improve how things work. You’ll contribute across recruitment, people advice, HR systems and workforce insights, with opportunities to get involved in broader People & Culture initiatives.

About the role

Working with our Head of People & Culture, P&C Business Partners and studio teams, you’ll help deliver responsive, reliable people services across our studios.

One day you might be coordinating interviews or supporting a people query. Another, you could be exploring workforce trends, improving a system workflow or helping introduce a new process. You’ll bring care and attention to the detail, while understanding how your work supports our people and practice.

What you’ll do

  • Support recruitment: Coordinate recruitment activities, interviews and communication, helping candidates and hiring teams stay informed throughout the process.
  • Provide people advice: Help colleagues understand employment conditions, policies and procedures, working with the P&C team on more complex matters.
  • Improve our systems: Maintain accurate employee records and help make our HR systems and workflows easier to use.
  • Make sense of people data: Explore workforce trends and share clear insights to support planning and decisions.
  • Contribute to people initiatives: Help develop and introduce policies, processes and programmes that respond to the needs of our studios.
  • Support compliance: Research relevant employment legislation, awards and requirements, sharing findings with the P&C team.
  • Build trusted relationships: Work with studio leaders, colleagues and external advisers, handling sensitive information with care and discretion.

What you’ll bring

You’ll have experience in People & Culture, HR operations or talent acquisition, along with an interest in broadening your skills.

We’d like to hear from you if you bring

Clear communication and the ability to build relationships with people across different teams.

A practical understanding of HR processes and experience using HR information systems.

Confidence working with data, checking its accuracy and explaining what it tells us.

Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Curiosity about technology, including automation and AI, and how it could improve people services.

Sound judgement when working with confidential information.

Experience improving HR workflows, supporting system implementation or training colleagues would be useful. Exposure to remuneration benchmarking or working across international teams would also be welcome.

Mandarin and/or Cantonese language skills would be an advantage in supporting recruitment for our Asian studios, but are not essential.

You don’t need to have worked across every area listed. We’re interested in the experience you bring, how you approach your work and where you’d like to develop.

Our team enjoys a wide range of benefits to support their development and well-being:

Paid parental leave for both primary and secondary carers.

A progressive flexible work policy that allows hybrid work, location flexibility and work pattern flexibility.

Inter-studio transfer opportunities. Wellbeing benefits.

Development and training opportunities, including access to online training programs and our People Coach program.

Study assistance.
