Job Description
The opportunity
Powering the world sustainably starts with the right people – and that begins with you!
We’re looking for a Talent Acquisition expert with strong technical affinity to drive and shape our R&D hiring strategy across Western Europe, with a particular focus on the German‑speaking market.
This is not a role for someone who relies on a “post and pray” approach. It’s for someone who thrives on building deep networks, enjoys finding talent others struggle to reach, and takes pride in creating sustainable talent pipelines; not just for today’s demand, but for what’s coming next.
In this role, you’ll partner closely with business leaders, HR teams, and our global Talent Acquisition community to attract critical technical talent in a highly dynamic and fast‑evolving energy environment.
If you’re passionate about recruiting technical experts, enjoy working closely with operational teams, and want to play an active role in making the energy transition a reality, we would love to hear from you.
How you’ll make an impact
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for R&D profiles and other strategic engineering and operational positions.
- Act as a trusted talent partner to hiring teams, translating complex technical and business requirements into effective recruitment strategies.
- Drive proactive sourcing strategies and provide talent intelligence on market dynamics, competitor activity, skills availability, and emerging talent trends across the energy and industrial sectors.
- Partner with the business on workforce planning, anticipate future capability needs, and build sustainable talent pipelines for critical and recurring roles.
- Build strong partnerships with senior business leaders across the various business units, providing strategic guidance throughout the hiring process.
- Align talent acquisition strategies with business priorities, operational requirements, and customer project demands.
- Drive continuous improvement across recruitment processes, sourcing effectiveness, candidate experience, and stakeholder engagement.
- Represent Hitachi Energy at career fairs, technical events, and industry forums, strengthening our position as an employer of choice for technical talent.
Your background
5 - 7 years of experience in recruiting technical and engineering talent, ideally within energy, electrical engineering, industrial services, automation, or similarly complex environments.
Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to operate as a trusted partner to senior business leaders, engineering teams, and project organizations.
Strong expertise in proactive sourcing and talent mapping for specialized and hard-to-fill technical roles.
Ability to quickly understand complex technical profiles and business requirements and translate them into targeted recruitment and sourcing strategies.
Experience operating effectively within an international, matrixed organization and across multiple stakeholder groups.
Fluency in English; German would be a strong advantage.
Passion for people, data-driven decision making, and using talent insights to support business growth and the energy transition.

Use of Al and automated tools in recruitment
As part of our recruitment process, Hitachi Energy uses digital and automated tools, including Al-supported solutions, to assist with activities such as application screening, job matching, and interview scheduling. These tools are designed to support our recruiters and do not replace human decision-making. Candidate data is processed in accordance with applicable data protection and employment laws as well as Hitachi's Global Data Privacy Notice.
Background Screening and Security Checks
As part of the hiring process, Hitachi Energy conducts pre-employment background checks that may include verification of employment history, education, criminal records, and other relevant information, in accordance with applicable laws.
For certain roles—particularly those involving access to sensitive information, financial responsibilities, client data, regulated environments, or security-sensitive functions—additional or more comprehensive background or security screenings may be required. These may include, but are not limited to, enhanced criminal history checks, credit history reviews (where legally permissible), sanctions screening, or other due diligence measures aligned with the responsibilities of the position.
The scope and depth of any background or security review will be determined based on the nature of the role and business necessity, and will always be conducted in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws. Candidates will be notified and, where required, asked to provide consent prior to the initiation of any such checks.
