HSBC Holdings plc Finance/FinTech

Global Head, Strategy and Performance

London, United Kingdom In person Full-time

Ready to shape how Cybersecurity sets strategy and measures impact globally?

Why HSBC

HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world. Guided by our purpose of opening up a world of opportunity, our ambition is to become the world’s most trusted bank globally, putting customers at the heart of everything we do.

The Role

As Global Head, Strategy and Performance you’ll set the direction for how Cybersecurity defines its strategy, tracks performance and communicates progress across the enterprise. Working within Cyber Resilience Strategy & Execution you’ll maintain the Cybersecurity Strategy, Future-State Architecture and OKRs while shaping the Target Operating Model and future-state workforce with senior partners across GCIO and COO. The role has global, enterprise-wide responsibility and works across business lines, functions, regions and countries.

You’ll establish clear scorecards and benefit realisation to show whether investment is delivering expected outcomes, and you’ll act early when performance is off track. A core part of the role is shaping the executive narrative so senior stakeholders, the Board and regulators understand Cybersecurity’s direction and intent. Success looks like a coherent multi-year strategy, a workforce plan aligned to future needs and trusted performance reporting that enables timely decisions.

What you'll be doing

  • Own and maintain the Cybersecurity Strategy and the key artefacts that set in-year and multi-year direction
  • Shape and maintain the Future-State Architecture in alignment with strategy and HSBC Value Stream principles
  • Align annual Finance & Resource Planning with the Future-State Architecture in partnership with Cyber Change and Delivery
  • Establish and maintain the Cybersecurity Target Operating Model with agreed organisational design principles
  • Develop and maintain the future-state workforce in partnership with COO so roles and skills evolve with strategy, FSA and TOM
  • Define and oversee Executive Scorecards and OKRs in partnership with COO to track outcomes and benefit realisation
  • Manage deviations with senior partners when measures underperform and outcomes are not being realised
  • Craft and communicate Cybersecurity’s narrative for senior leadership, the Board and regulators using clear data-led messaging

What we're looking for

  • Bring significant senior experience setting strategy, performance management and executive communications in Financial Services or technology organisations
  • Demonstrate experience developing and maintaining strategy artefacts that support multi-year planning and delivery
  • Show experience establishing operating models and workforce or capability design aligned to strategic direction
  • Apply performance scorecards, OKRs and benefit realisation approaches to evidence outcomes and manage gaps
  • Communicate complex ideas with clarity in writing and presentations for senior stakeholders
  • Influence and partner effectively across a complex global matrix with GCIO, COO and wider business stakeholders
  • Bring sufficient technical understanding to engage credibly on Cybersecurity context and the value of the function’s work
  • Engage with regulators or support regulatory communications and stakeholder engagement where required

Setting Cybersecurity’s Global Narrative

If you want your work to influence how a global Cybersecurity function sets direction, measures results and communicates with the most senior stakeholders this role offers that platform. You’ll connect strategy, architecture, operating model and performance into a coherent story that helps the organisation make better decisions. The impact is enterprise-wide with close partnership across Cybersecurity Leadership, GCIO, COO and the wider business. Apply to help shape how Cybersecurity demonstrates progress and outcomes across HSBC.
