Senior QA Engineer

We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer (Manual / Functional) with strong expertise in software testing and a passion for delivering high-quality applications. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Manual and Functional Testing, experience working in Agile environments, and exposure to automation testing tools and frameworks. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on functional testing while actively building automation capabilities and aspiring to transition into a broader Quality Engineering role over time.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements, user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria to
• identify test conditions and testing scope.
• Design, develop, review, and maintain detailed test scenarios and test cases covering:

• Positive scenarios
• Negative scenarios
• End-to-End business workflows
• Regression test scenarios

Perform

• Functional Testing
• Integration Testing
• End-to-End Testing
• Regression Testing

Ensure complete requirements traceability by mapping requirements to test cases and validating functional coverage. Review requirements during backlog grooming and sprint planning sessions to identify gaps, ambiguities, and testability concerns. Execute manual test cases and document test results with clear evidence and observations. Strong understanding of Scrum Methodologies and active participation in Agile ceremonies including: · Sprint Planning · Daily Stand-ups · Sprint Reviews · Retrospectives Identify, document, track, and verify defects throughout the defect lifecycle.

Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and Scrum Teams to ensure quality deliverables. Support and contribute to automation initiatives by: · Identifying automation feasibility · Maintaining automation scripts · Executing automated test suites from IDEs or Jenkins · Learning and adopting automation best practices Provide accurate test estimates and status updates during sprint execution.

Preferred Technical Skills · Exposure to test automation tools such as Selenium and Playwright. · Basic programming knowledge in one or more languages Java, C#, Python. · Familiarity with API testing using Postman/Rest Assured. · Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and modern software delivery practices. · Knowledge of SQL and database validation.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Testing.
• Strong understanding of: § Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC) § Requirement Analysis § Test design techniques § Develop comprehensive test scenarios § Test planning & execution § Defect Management Lifecycle
• Experience with IDEs - Eclipse, Visual Studio, or Visual Studio Code, along with hands-on programming experience in Java, C#, Python or any programming languages.
• Experience with distributed version control system and source code repository tools like Git and Bitbucket etc…
• Familiarity with API testing using Postman/Rest Assured.
• Strong understanding of Scrum methodologies and active participation in Agile ceremonies.
• Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and a quality-first mindset. · Is proactive, self-driven, and collaborative. · Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills. · Shows a clear ambition to evolve from primarily manual testing into a competent automation QA engineer over the next few years. · Is eager to learn new tools, frameworks, and technologies that support test automation and quality engineering transformation.
