VP Mendix Developer

Our technology team seeks to add an experienced Senior Mendix Developer to its growing ranks. This individual will work as a member of our technology team and will take the lead in designing and developing modern low-code applications supporting our investment strategies using the Mendix platform. We are reaching out to individuals who possess expertise in Mendix application development, strong problem-solving skills, and a solid understanding of software development principles, particularly within the financial services industry.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of robust and scalable applications using the Mendix low-code platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and Mendix solutions.
• Enable integration of Mendix applications with proprietary solutions and third-party vendor systems via REST APIs, OData, and web services.
• Ensure application quality, performance, and adherence to Mendix best practices and development standards.
• Stay abreast of Mendix platform updates, industry trends, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance our development practices

Requirements

• Proficiency in Mendix Studio and Mendix Studio Pro with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
• Solid understanding of software development principles, data modeling, and application architecture.
• Experience with Java and JavaScript for extending Mendix applications is a plus.
• Mendix certification (Intermediate or Advanced) is strongly preferred.
• Extensive experience in the financial services industry, preferably with exposure to credit or hedge funds.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment and provide technical leadership.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, maturity, an eye for business, proactivity, and an excellent attitude.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Self-motivation and a willingness to take ownership of projects.
• Outstanding integrity and work ethic.

Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 4+ years of progressive experience developing applications with a significant portion focusing on the Mendix platform.
• Experience in the financial services industry, preferably within a credit or hedge fund.
• Familiarity with SQL databases and data integration patterns is preferred.
• Experience with Mendix cloud deployment, CI/CD pipelines, and application lifecycle management is preferred.
