Position Overview

The Supply Chain Advisory Lead is responsible for owning and shaping ISG's Global Supply Chain advisory offering within Intelligent Operations. This is a market-facing, sales-forward subject matter expert role responsible for defining ISG's point of view on the future of supply chain, building differentiated intellectual property and propositions, creating executive-level demand, and originating new advisory and transformation work.

The leader will get in front of Supply Chain Officers and other senior executives to create conversations around AI-enabled supply chain strategy, benchmarking, operating model design, strategic sourcing, and supply chain transformation. The role will then translate market demand into compelling solutions and build the capabilities, methods, talent, and delivery partnerships required to scale the offering. Reporting to the Head of Intelligent Operations, the successful candidate will bring deep supply chain expertise, a proven record of creating, shaping and closing consulting opportunities, and the entrepreneurial energy to build a market and a capability around it.

Responsibilities

Own and shape ISG's Global Supply Chain advisory offering, including its growth agenda, target markets, priority client issues, value propositions, and route to market.

Define and continuously refresh ISG's point of view on the future of supply chain, including the impact of AI, automation, analytics, technology, geopolitics, resilience, changing supplier ecosystems, and evolving operating and service delivery models.

Create demand in the market by engaging Chief Supply Chain Officers, Chief Procurement Officers, COOs, CFOs, CIOs, and other senior executives in insight-led conversations about their most important supply chain opportunities and risks.

Originate, qualify, and shape new consulting and transformation opportunities through executive outreach, thought leadership, referrals, industry activity, ecosystem relationships, and targeted account development.

Build differentiated supply chain intellectual property, benchmarks, diagnostic tools, assessments, solution plays, and client propositions that create a distinctive ISG position and are easy for account teams to take to market.

Lead solutioning for supply chain opportunities, translating client needs into compelling scopes, approaches, business cases, delivery models, statements of work, and commercial propositions with clear value outcomes.

Build the capability behind the offering by defining required methods, talent, partners, accelerators, governance, and delivery models, and by mobilizing the right ISG resources as opportunities are won.

Develop market-facing thought leadership and other points of engagement that establish ISG as a credible voice in supply chain transformation and generate qualified demand.

Build and maintain relationships with relevant technology and outsourcing providers, and industry partners to expand market reach and strengthen the proposition.

Ensure the capability, talent, and methods built behind each offering can produce the right client outcomes.

Identify follow-on opportunities with existing clients and expand relationships by bringing new insights, propositions, and capabilities to the account.

Serve as the visible internal voice for supply chain, enabling business development and industry teams with messaging, executive conversation guides, market intelligence, and practical routes to opportunity.

Required Skillsets

Ability to travel approximately 25%, with higher travel possible for executive market development.

12+ years of experience in supply chain strategy, operations, sourcing, consulting, transformation, or related leadership roles, with a meaningful portion in client-facing advisory or business development.

Demonstrated success originating and shaping complex consulting engagements with large, global, or Fortune 1000 organizations.

A sales-forward supply chain subject matter expert who can independently create executive conversations, establish relevance, develop a compelling point of view, and convert insight into qualified opportunities.

Deep understanding of supply chain operating models, including planning, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, fulfillment, inventory and supplier management, AI-enabled operations and the role of shared services, outsourcing, and hybrid models.

Strong knowledge of AI, automation, analytics, and supply chain technologies and their practical application to supply chain decision-making, productivity, operations and organizational design.

Strong track record building or growing an advisory offering, including defining market propositions, developing intellectual property, creating thought leadership, moving from insight to solutioning, and establishing a scalable supply chain capability.

Exceptional consultative selling, executive presentation, and relationship management skills, with the ability to build executive client relationships, influence without authority, and cultivate provider and technology partnerships.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Business, Finance, Information Systems or another relevant field. Advanced degree or professional supply chain certification is preferred.
