Purpose

The Integration & Azure Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining API solutions within the Azure cloud environment. This role focuses on leveraging Azure technologies such as Function Apps and API Management to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient integrations, supporting business objectives and digital transformation initiatives.

We’re looking for an Integration & Azure Developer who wants to do more than maintain systems. You’ll help build the digital connections between them, designing secure, scalable APIs and cloud integrations that make our technology ecosystem work smarter, faster, and more seamlessly.

You’ll work within our Next Generation Banking team and collaborate with analysts, architects, developers, security professionals and business partners to turn complex integration needs into practical, reliable solutions.

Education & Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
• 3+ years of software development experience, ideally involving cloud-based integrations.
• Strong development skills using.NET and C#.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure technologies, particularly Azure Function Apps and Azure API Management.
• Experience using Git for source control and collaborative development.
• Knowledge of RESTful API design and OpenAPI Specification.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and modern software delivery.
• An understanding of application security, authentication, authorization and data protection.
• The ability to work collaboratively with both technical and business partners.

Principal Responsibilities / Accountabilities

• Build and integrate
• Design, develop and maintain secure, scalable APIs and integrations within the Microsoft Azure environment.
• Develop serverless solutions using Azure Function Apps and Azure API Management.
• Build solutions that move information efficiently and reliably between systems using APIs, JSON and modern integration patterns.
• Create APIs that are intuitive, reliable and designed around business and member needs.
• Automate and improve
• Use Git and CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment.
• Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve performance and reduce technical debt.
• Optimize solutions for scalability, reliability and cost effectiveness.
• Stay current with evolving Azure technologies and help identify where new capabilities could create value for Innovation.
• Protect what matters
• Build security into solutions from the beginning, including authentication, authorization and data protection.
• Ensure integrations support organizational and regulatory expectations for privacy and security.
• Maintain strong technical documentation and clear audit trails for changes.
• Work as part of the team
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, system analysts, data analysts, security analysts and other technology partners.
• Participate in code reviews, team discussions and knowledge sharing.
• Share your expertise and support the growth of other developers.
• Help turn business challenges into technology solutions that are practical, maintainable and built for the future.

Technical Skills (Developing / Learning)

• SQL and relational databases
• Data integration and transformation concepts
• Power BI or similar analytics tools
• Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Excel, Teams, Power Platform exposure an asset)
• Ability to write clear documentation and technical notes
