What We Are Looking For

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst with deep Policy Administration expertise to join our growing delivery team. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong P&C insurance knowledge with technical problem-solving and the confidence to lead requirements on enterprise-level implementations.

As a Senior Business Analyst specializing in policy, you will lead the definition, documentation and delivery of policy solutions, working closely with clients, project managers and development teams. You will own requirements for the policy lifecycle, guide design decisions, validate implemented solutions, and ensure system configuration aligns with product rules and client objectives. You will also mentor other analysts and serve as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities

Policy Functional & Product Knowledge

  • Lead the analysis and mapping of the end-to-end policy lifecycle: quote, bind, issuance, endorsements, renewals, cancellations and reinstatements.
  • Define and document product configuration, including coverages, limits, deductibles, rating rules, underwriting rules and referrals.
  • Specify policy forms, documents and output generation requirements, along with integration points with billing, claims, reinsurance and third-party services.
  • Work with QA and development teams to ensure the policy module is configured correctly and integrates cleanly with downstream modules.
  • Identify product gaps and enhancements in policy workflows and recommend system and process improvements.

Business Expertise

  • Lead requirements workshops and own BRDs, FRDs, user stories and acceptance criteria across policy product lines.
  • Validate that delivered solutions meet client, product and regulatory requirements.
  • Align solutions with clients’ business processes, compliance requirements and product definitions, and advise on best-practice approaches.
  • Guide testing strategy, review test cases and validate output accuracy, including rating results and policy documents.
  • Lead client demos, walkthroughs and UAT sign-off.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders, including product owners, underwriters, actuaries and IT.
  • Communicate business impact clearly, manage scope and expectations, and resolve uncertainties early.
  • Mentor and review the work of intermediate and junior analysts on insurance concepts, SDLC best practices and client communication.
  • Contribute to BA standards, templates, onboarding and documentation of best practices.
  • 5+ years of Business Analysis experience in insurance or financial technology.
  • Deep understanding of the P&C policy lifecycle, including product configuration, rating, underwriting rules, forms and endorsements.
  • Hands-on experience implementing or configuring core policy administration systems; knowledge of billing and claims integration is an asset.
  • Proven experience leading requirements on enterprise implementations and creating BRDs, FRDs, user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Strong working knowledge of SDLC, Agile/Scrum and testing best practices.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder-management skills, with experience mentoring other analysts.
  • Insurance designation (e.g., CIP, CPCU) is an asset.
