Intuit Finance/FinTech

Staff Product Manager - Lending Platform

Mountain View, CA In person Full-time

Job Overview

Intuit is building a next-generation lending platform that enables consumers and small businesses to access capital seamlessly across our ecosystem.

We are looking for a Staff Product Manager to lead our Lending Origination Platform—the foundational capabilities that power loan origination, bank orchestration, and funding across Intuit's consumer and SMB direct lending businesses.

This is a highly technical platform product role. You will own the end-to-end strategy and roadmap for evolving our lending infrastructure into a scalable, configurable, API-first platform that accelerates new product launches, enables multiple banking and funding models, and supports increasing origination volume with greater operational efficiency and reliability.

Your scope spans three core capability areas

Underwriting & Origination Orchestration: Configurable workflows that orchestrate eligibility, credit decisioning, loan offers, acceptance, and origination across consumer and SMB lending products.

Bank Orchestration & Funding: Reusable capabilities for originating-bank integrations, bank-specific configuration, funding orchestration, disbursement, and exception management.

Capital Markets & Bank Partner Enablement: Platform capabilities that support bank partnerships, funding structures, loan-level data integrity, asset ownership and lineage, and integration with Capital Markets operations.

You will work closely with Engineering, Architecture, Credit Risk, Treasury, Capital Markets, Bank Partnerships, Legal, Compliance, and Lending Operations to build a platform that balances product flexibility, partner requirements, regulatory controls, and operational resilience.

The successful candidate will combine deep lending expertise, strong technical and architectural fluency, an understanding of bank and funding ecosystems, and a platform product mindset. You will know how to translate complex lending and partner requirements into reusable capabilities while making thoughtful tradeoffs between immediate business needs and long-term platform leverage.

Success means enabling Intuit to launch lending products faster, integrate new banking and funding partners more efficiently, and scale loan origination without proportional increases in engineering effort or operational complexity.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the Origination Platform strategy
  • Own the multi-year product strategy and end-to-end roadmap for origination capabilities supporting Intuit's consumer and SMB direct lending products.
  • Define reusable platform services, APIs, and configurable workflows that support multiple lending products, originating banks, and funding structures without bespoke implementations.
  • Partner with engineering and architecture leaders to drive consequential platform design decisions, balancing extensibility, technical complexity, scalability, reliability, and speed to market.
  • Build scalable underwriting and origination orchestration
  • Define configurable orchestration capabilities for eligibility, underwriting, credit decisioning, offer generation, acceptance, and loan creation across lending products.
  • Partner with Credit Risk and Engineering to enable flexible decision workflows, policy integrations, product configuration, and controlled changes to underwriting strategies without repeated platform engineering.
  • Establish standardized origination APIs, data contracts, state management, and event-driven workflows that enable consistent and auditable processing across products and customer segments.
  • Build bank orchestration and funding capabilities
  • Define scalable bank orchestration capabilities supporting multiple originating banks, including partner-specific configurations, origination requirements, routing, and integration patterns.
  • Build reusable funding capabilities spanning disbursement orchestration, funding instructions, status tracking, reconciliation interfaces, and exception management in partnership with Money Movement and banking infrastructure teams.
  • Reduce the complexity and engineering effort required to integrate new bank partners or support new funding arrangements through standardized APIs, partner abstractions, and configurable platform services.
  • Enable Capital Markets and banking partnerships
  • Partner closely with Treasury, Capital Markets, and Bank Partnerships teams to translate financing structures, bank requirements, and operational constraints into scalable platform capabilities.
  • Define the origination data, asset lineage, ownership attributes, and lifecycle events required to support loan sales, forward-flow arrangements, and other capital markets transactions.
  • Build flexible platform interfaces and controls that support evolving bank and funding partnerships without requiring product-specific or deal-specific engineering implementations.
  • Accelerate lending product innovation
  • Enable a configure-over-customize approach to launching new consumer and SMB lending products, supporting variations in credit strategies, product terms, originating banks, and funding structures.
  • Partner with lending product teams to translate new product requirements into reusable origination capabilities that can serve multiple offerings and distribution channels.
  • Improve platform leverage through measurable reductions in product launch time, bank integration effort, engineering dependencies, and incremental development cost.
  • Drive platform reliability and operational excellence
  • Partner with engineering to establish high standards for availability, processing latency, fault tolerance, scalability, and resilience across critical origination and funding workflows.
  • Define end-to-end observability across credit decisions, origination processing, bank integrations, funding status, and operational exceptions, enabling faster diagnosis and resolution of failures.
  • Reduce manual intervention, operational risk, and integration complexity through workflow automation, standardized controls, exception handling, and resilient partner integrations.

Basic Qualifications

8+ years of product management experience, with significant ownership of complex, API-driven platforms, backend services, or large-scale financial technology products.

Deep lending domain experience is required, including a strong understanding of loan origination, credit decisioning, underwriting workflows, banking integrations, and funding processes.

Demonstrated experience building or evolving loan origination platforms, banking orchestration systems, lending infrastructure, or comparable financial technology platforms.

Strong technical fluency across APIs, service-oriented architectures, data contracts and schemas, event-driven systems, workflow orchestration, distributed services, and third-party integrations.

Experience working with bank partners or financial institutions to deliver lending integrations, implement bank-specific requirements, and navigate complex technical and regulatory dependencies.

Proven ability to translate complex lending workflows and partner requirements into reusable, configurable platform capabilities supporting multiple products, partners, or customer segments.

Experience partnering deeply with engineering and architecture teams on system design, architectural tradeoffs, platform extensibility, and technical roadmap decisions.

Strong understanding of lending funding workflows, disbursement processes, transaction lifecycles, operational controls, and reconciliation requirements.

Demonstrated ability to improve platform reliability, scalability, operational efficiency, and engineering productivity through thoughtful product and architecture decisions.

Ability to operate as a highly autonomous senior individual contributor, driving complex initiatives and influencing decisions across Engineering, Risk, Treasury, Capital Markets, Partnerships, and Operations.

Exceptional analytical, structured problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate between technical architecture, lending operations, partner requirements, and business strategy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building origination platforms supporting consumer or SMB lending products, including term loans, lines of credit, credit cards, or embedded financing.
  • Experience with multiple originating-bank models, bank partner onboarding, bank integrations, or configurable funding and disbursement capabilities.
  • Familiarity with lending capital markets, including forward-flow arrangements, warehouse financing, loan sales, securitization, and the platform data and operational requirements supporting these structures.
  • Experience with configurable workflow engines, credit decision engines, business rules platforms, or underwriting orchestration systems.
  • Experience designing API-first lending infrastructure consumed across multiple products, channels, or financial institution partners.
  • Experience modernizing fragmented, product-specific lending systems into common platform services with measurable improvements in reliability, extensibility, and development velocity.

What Success Looks Like

In this role, you will help Intuit reach a point where:

New lending products launch faster because origination workflows, decision orchestration, bank integrations, and funding capabilities can be configured and reused rather than rebuilt.

Consumer and SMB lending products share a common origination foundation, while retaining flexibility for different credit strategies, originating banks, product structures, and regulatory requirements.

New banking partners can be integrated more efficiently through standardized contracts, reusable APIs, and configurable bank orchestration capabilities.

Funding is reliable, observable, and operationally efficient, with fewer failures, faster exception resolution, and reduced manual intervention.

Capital Markets and Treasury can execute evolving financing strategies with consistent origination data, standardized integration points, and reduced dependence on bespoke platform development.

Engineering effort per product or partner launch declines as reusable services and configurable workflows replace custom implementations.

Origination Platform becomes a durable foundation for lending scale, supporting increasing origination volume, additional banking relationships, and more diverse funding models without proportional growth in platform complexity.
