Intuit Finance/FinTech

Principal HRBP

Mountain View, CA In person Full-time

Intuit HR Business Partners accelerate business growth and amplify Intuit’s culture by building the org and talent strategies that put the right skills, structure, and environment behind our most critical work. They drive multi-year organizational and talent strategies, lead organizational change, and scale impact through high-performing executives and leadership teams.

Our HR Business Partners are business leaders first who lead through people. They combine business and financial fluency, data and AI acumen, and change leadership to lead Intuit’s transformation with speed, agility, and scale, delivering outcomes for our people and our business.

Why this role, now

Intuit is rebuilding how work gets done. We’re moving to AI-native leadership, where AI carries coordination and synthesis and leaders spend their time on judgment, coaching, and culture. We’re aligning business strategy directly to the skills, scale, and shape of our teams, and driving AI adoption so every employee delivers stronger outcomes with more velocity. People & Places sits at the center, leading this transformation.

As a Principal HR Business Partner, you’ll be an embedded partner to a senior leadership team, translating its strategy into the talent and organizational decisions that determine whether it wins. You’ll diagnose needs, set priorities, and lead the work that enables employees to do the best work of their lives in service of our customers. You’ll coach leaders through one of the most significant reinventions of work in a generation, and build the deep, trusted relationships that give you lasting impact on the organization and team.

Responsibilities

  • Business partner, first: Understand your client group’s strategy, financials, and competitive position deeply enough to shape the talent plan and in-year priorities with its leadership team, not just execute them. Own direct accountability for the people agenda in partnership with senior leaders.
  • Talent strategist: Identify the skills and capabilities the business needs next, and build the plan to hire, develop, and retain that talent, with AI-first expectations built into hiring rubrics, goals, and development from the start.
  • Org designer and change leader: Frame org design options that increase speed and reduce layers and friction, then lead the change management that lands them. Drive Intuit-wide priorities such as AI-powered work and strategic workforce planning across your client group.
  • Leadership coach and team builder: Coach senior leaders with courage and candor, and strengthen leadership-team effectiveness to drive prioritization, cross-functional alignment, and velocity.
  • Integrated P&P partner: Operate seamlessly with Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Total Rewards, People Analytics, and other People & Places centers of excellence to bring the full function to the business.
  • Data-led operator: Use AI tools, HR technology, and people analytics to spot trends early, turn quantitative and qualitative data into insight, and drive measurable improvement in engagement, manager scores, mobility, retention, and leadership capability.
  • 7-10 years in HR partnering directly with executives on business results, building high-performing teams and leading change
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (Human Resources-related field preferred), or equivalent work experience
  • Strong business acumen: able to interpret financial performance, learn business objectives quickly, and translate both into talent and org decisions that influence business outcomes
  • AI fluency and an experimentation mindset: you actively use AI to make your own work more effective and efficient, and help the leaders and teams you partner with do the same
  • Experience building an annual org strategy and talent plan with clear priorities and actions that result in highly engaged people in the best possible roles, doing the best work of their lives
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills, with direct ownership of interpreting data and using it to influence decisions; experience in consulting, strategy, or similarly analytical environments is a plus
  • Experience framing organizational design options that accelerate speed and reduce friction in getting work done
  • Experience diagnosing and building leadership team capability at senior levels, with courage and candor
  • Track record leading change and building change leadership capability in others
  • Trusted relationships with executives, managers, and employees, and across the HR function, within and beyond your core client group
