Work Type: Full time Job Summary As a Senior Software Development Engineer – iOS, you will play a key role in designing, building, and evolving high-performance, scalable, and resilient iOS applications used by millions of users. You will take ownership of complex technical problems across the iOS platform, driving improvements in app performance, stability, architecture, and developer productivity. You will work on building scalable frameworks, reusable components, and robust engineering solutions while contributing to the technical direction of the mobile platform.

This role requires strong expertise in iOS development, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work across teams to deliver high-quality user experiences at scale. You will also mentor engineers, drive engineering best practices, and contribute to building a strong technical culture within the team. About the Team JioHotstar's world-record-breaking streaming platform serves audiences across India, the UK, Singapore, Canada, and other international markets.

You'll work on subscriber growth platforms, market-specific product innovations, and scalable frameworks that support diverse business and content requirements across geographies. Key Responsibilities ● Own and drive the design and development of scalable, high-performance, and resilient iOS applications and platform capabilities. ● Lead complex technical initiatives focused on improving app performance, stability, reliability, and overall user experience. ● Drive architectural improvements and modernization initiatives by evolving legacy APIs, UI components, and development patterns to modern iOS frameworks and best practices. ● Design and develop reusable frameworks, shared libraries, and core components that can be leveraged across multiple applications and teams. ● Identify technical gaps, evaluate solutions, and drive initiatives that improve the scalability, maintainability, and quality of the iOS codebase. ● Establish and promote engineering best practices around code quality, testing, performance, security, and reliability. ● Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-tested code while conducting thorough code reviews and providing constructive technical feedback.

• Work closely with product, design, backend, and other engineering teams to translate complex requirements into scalable technical solutions. ● Drive adoption of modern development practices, tools, and technologies to improve developer productivity and engineering efficiency. ● Troubleshoot complex production issues and provide effective solutions across the application and platform layers. ● Mentor and guide junior and mid-level iOS engineers through technical discussions, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing. ● Contribute to the broader engineering community through internal knowledge-sharing, technical documentation, and thought leadership. Skills and Attributes for Success ● Strong hands-on experience in iOS development using Swift and Objective-C. ● Strong understanding of iOS architecture patterns such as MVC, MVVM, VIPER, or Clean Architecture. ● Deep understanding of iOS frameworks, SDKs, APIs, application lifecycle, memory management, and concurrency. ● Strong experience in building performant and scalable mobile applications. ● Hands-on experience with performance profiling and debugging using Xcode Instruments and other relevant tools. ● Experience with modern iOS development frameworks and technologies such as SwiftUI and UIKit. ● Strong understanding of networking, API integrations, caching, and data persistence. ● Experience with unit testing, UI testing, and building reliable automated test coverage. ● Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and mobile application release processes. ● Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and operating system concepts. ● Ability to break down complex technical problems into scalable and practical solutions. ● Strong ownership mindset with the ability to work effectively in ambiguous and fast-paced environments. ● Good communication and collaboration skills, with experience mentoring and influencing other engineers. Preferred Education and Experience ● Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. ● 4–6 years of professional experience in iOS or mobile application development. ● Proven experience building and maintaining large-scale, consumer-facing iOS applications. ● Experience working on high-traffic or media/streaming applications is a plus. ● Experience contributing to shared mobile platforms, frameworks, or developer infrastructure is preferred.
