PeopleSoft Developer

About the Role

#JLLTechAmbitions

JLL, an international real estate management company, is looking for PeopleSoft Developers to join our JLL Technology Engineering organization. You will work on mission-critical financial systems, combining hands-on PeopleSoft development with analysis of business needs, root-cause work on production issues, and delivery of enhancements through the full change lifecycle.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, changing environment, enjoys solving business problems through creative thinking, and brings a “Get it done” attitude with a “Think ahead” mentality. You should be comfortable working independently and with a distributed team, and able to lead by example.

Responsibilities

Develop and enhance: design, code, and unit test customizations and enhancements to JLL’s PeopleSoft Financials modules using PeopleCode, Application Engine, Application Packages, Component Interfaces, SQR, and SQL.

Resolve production issues: analyze incidents and batch failures, determine root cause, deliver fixes, and move solutions through the change lifecycle. Document recurring failures as SOPs and known-error articles.

Translate requirements: work with finance users and functional analysts to turn business needs into functional and technical specifications, and articulate requirements in enough detail for thorough testing.

Build and support integrations: develop and maintain interfaces with upstream and downstream systems using Integration Broker, file layouts, and Component Interfaces, and monitor interface and batch process flows.

Reporting: build and maintain BI Publisher reports, PS Queries, and SQRs for finance, audit, and operational needs.

Upgrades and infrastructure: take part in PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) and PeopleTools upgrades, including keep/drop analysis, compare-report review, and retrofit of customizations, and support PeopleSoft environments on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

Testing and quality: prepare test cases, run unit and system integration testing, coordinate user acceptance testing, and track defects to closure.

Improve and optimize: identify performance improvements and automation opportunities, evaluate user interface enhancements, and drive change that reduces manual effort.

Document and enable: maintain technical documentation, training material, and job aids, and consult with the business on correct use and interpretation of PeopleSoft functionality.

Collaborate and mentor: participate in global and regional enhancement and implementation projects, and share knowledge with and guide junior team members.

Experience & Education

  • At least 5 years of IT experience, with 8+ years of hands-on PeopleSoft development preferred. A computer science or related engineering degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience supporting and enhancing PeopleSoft Financials (FSCM 9.2) in a production environment.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft upgrades (PUM image and PeopleTools), including object compare and retrofit.
  • Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills, with the ability to resolve issues under SLA pressure.
  • Experience with API testing and familiarity with HTTP, REST, and JSON protocols.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and self-disciplined, able to plan and run multiple tasks at once.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, and strong analytical and organizational skills.

Technical Skills & Competencies

PeopleSoft development (required): PeopleCode, Application Designer, Application Engine, Application Packages, Component Interfaces, File Layouts, Data Mover, Approval Workflow Engine (AWE), and PS Query, on PeopleTools 8.5x and later.

Reporting (required): BI/XML Publisher and SQR.

Integrations (required): PeopleSoft Integration Broker, plus experience with file-based and web-service interfaces.

Database (required): Strong Oracle SQL; ability to write, tune, and troubleshoot SQL scripts.

Financial modules: hands-on experience in several of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Billing, Contracts, Purchasing/Requisitions, Asset Management, Project Costing, and Travel & Expenses. Exposure to a multi-currency, multi-book instance is a plus, including document sequencing, VAT, sales and use tax processing, payment predictor, and bank interfaces.

SDLC and tooling: full software development lifecycle (analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment), Agile delivery, and ticketing tools such as ServiceNow and Jira.

Basic knowledge of financial accounting.
