The Digital Accessibility team plays an important role in ensuring these shared foundations support equitable and accessible experiences for customers with disabilities. The role requires deep accessibility expertise, strong design-system and product development knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to lead through influence. You will help teams translate accessibility standards and human-centered design principles into practical requirements for web and native mobile components, composable patterns, complex data visualizations, and emerging platform capabilities.
You will also help establish repeatable accessibility practices and governance that improve consistency, reduce downstream remediation, and enable product teams to use components with confidence.
As an Accessibility Lead Vice President in Digital Accessibility Team, supporting our Component Library, you will provide strategic and technical accessibility leadership throughout the design-system lifecycle. You will partner with product, design, engineering, quality assurance, research, standards, content, and other stakeholders to establish how accessibility requirements apply to reusable components, interaction patterns, documentation, tooling, and emerging platform capabilities.
You will be passionate about accessibility in the digital space and lead accessibility initiatives supporting MDS (Manhattan Design System). You will display broad knowledge of accessibility barriers, assistive technologies, and techniques for creating accessible customer-facing web and mobile products. Expert knowledge of current accessibility standards is required.
You will partner across product, design, content, engineering, quality assurance, research, and standards to apply accessibility requirements to reusable components and patterns. Experience resolving complex accessibility questions, creating scalable guidance, influencing cross-functional decisions, and supporting teams throughout the product development lifecycle is important. You will lead accessibility support for our component library, helping ensure accessibility is built into reusable components, patterns, documentation, and tools before they are adopted across Chase digital products.
You will provide guidance across design, implementation, testing, defect management, documentation, research, adoption, and release readiness.
Job Responsibilities
Serve as a lead Digital Accessibility advisor for our component library across customer-facing web and native mobile components, patterns, documentation, and tools. Establish and communicate accessibility expectations for reusable components, composable patterns, and platform-specific implementations.
Partner with product, design, engineering, quality assurance, research, standards, content, and other stakeholders to integrate accessibility throughout discovery, design, development, testing, release, adoption, and ongoing improvement. Provide early accessibility guidance for component concepts, prototypes, design specifications, interaction patterns, technical approaches, and implementation guidance.
Translate accessibility standards and internal requirements into actionable design guidance, technical recommendations, test expectations, acceptance criteria, documentation, and product decisions. Lead technical discussions and facilitate decisions involving complex or emerging accessibility questions where existing standards or patterns may not provide complete implementation guidance.
Evaluate component behavior across assistive technologies, platforms, browsers, device settings, customer contexts, and interaction modes. Support defect triage and prioritization by assessing customer impact, standards implications, severity, available workarounds, affected versions, downstream product impact, and release readiness.
Identify recurring accessibility risks and use defect, testing, research, adoption, and product feedback insights to recommend improvements to components, patterns, documentation, and delivery practices. Help establish and maintain scalable accessibility usage guidance, including expected screen reader behavior, keyboard interactions, built-in and configurable behaviors, color and contrast requirements, focus management, accessibility rationale, and implementation examples.
Partner with accessibility advisors supporting product teams to clarify whether issues originate incomponents, product-specific implementation, content, configuration, or the surrounding customer experience. Provide accessibility leadership for the modernization of legacy components and the adoption of composable components across web and mobile platforms. Advise on accessible solutions for complex components and patterns, including data visualizations, a variety of interactive widgets, and dynamic content.
Incorporate findings from research with people with disabilities into component and pattern guidance and recommend opportunities for inclusive research throughout the design-system lifecycle. Coach accessibility advisors and cross-functional partners on our component library accessibility considerations, helping build consistent knowledge and practices across teams.
Communicate accessibility risks, recommendations, tradeoffs, adoption considerations, and progress clearly to technical teams, product leaders, and senior stakeholders. Stay current on accessibility standards, assistive technologies, platform capabilities, design-system practices, emerging technologies, and relevant industry developments.
Support responsible use of approved AI-enabled tools and component library capabilities while maintaining appropriate validation, transparency, data handling, controls, and human accountability.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
Seven or more years of experience supporting accessibility across customer-facing digital products, programs, or functions. Expert knowledge of digital accessibility standards and specifications, including WCAG 2.2, WAI-ARIA, semantic web technologies, and accessibility requirements for native mobile applications.
Demonstrated experience identifying accessibility barriers and recommending practical solutions across complex web or mobile experiences. Strong understanding of assistive technologies and the ways customers with disabilities navigate, understand, and operate digital experiences.
Experience advising product, design, engineering, and quality assurance partners throughout the product development lifecycle. Experience working with enterprise design systems, component libraries, reusable patterns, or shared platform capabilities.
Ability to translate accessibility requirements into clear design guidance, technical recommendations, user stories, acceptance criteria, documentation, and product decisions. Experience leading complex technical discussions, resolving ambiguity, and influencing outcomes across teams without direct authority.
Strong understanding of accessibility testing methodologies, defect documentation, severity assessment, prioritization, remediation, and release readiness practices. Experience evaluating component behavior including keyboard interaction, screen reader output, focus management, dynamic updates, validation, error handling, text scaling, contrast, and responsive layouts.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to evaluate emerging components and interaction patterns for which established guidance may not yet exist. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex accessibility and technical concepts to senior leaders and nontechnical audiences.
Ability to operate independently, manage competing priorities, adapt to evolving direction, and bring structure to a broad and fast-moving area.
