Molex Printed Circuit Solutions is looking for an experienced Field Application Engineer (FAE) to support our customers across Europe in automotive, medical, industrial and other markets.
We are looking for someone with a strong background in PCBA and flexible circuit FPCA design, who understands how electronic products are specified, developed, and manufactured, and enjoys applying that knowledge directly with customers.
You will be the technical interface between our European customers, BDMs, Sales teams and global PCS engineering and manufacturing experts. You will understand customer applications and requirements, challenge designs where needed, evaluate technical feasibility, and help develop competitive and manufacturable solutions.
What You Will Do In Your Role
Customer Application Support: Support multiple European customer projects from initial inquiry through specification alignment and feasibility, to prototypes and qualification. Understand applications, technical challenges and requirements, and drive technical topics and next steps with customers and PCS teams.
Technical Feasibility & DFM: Evaluate feasibility and technical risks against PCS capabilities, and recommend improvements related to design, cost, performance, reliability and manufacturability.
Technical Problem Solving: Support investigation and resolution of design, prototype and qualification issues together with customers and PCS engineering teams.
Facilitation & Communication: Facilitate technical discussions, design reviews, workshops and cross-functional meetings. Translate complex engineering topics into clear recommendations, decisions and actions.
Standards & Requirements: Understand and apply relevant IPC standards, customer-specific requirements and applicable industry and quality requirements, including IATF and PPAP requirements where relevant.
The Experience You Will Bring
Engineering Experience: Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related technical discipline, with 5+ years of hands-on experience in PCB/FPC design, product development and/or application engineering.
PCBA/FPCA Expertise: Strong practical understanding of PCB/FPC design, assembly and manufacturing, including stack-ups, materials, design rules, tolerances, controlled impedance and manufacturing limitations.
EDA Tools: Experience with Altium Designer, Cadence or comparable EDA tools; familiarity with 3D CAD tools such as NX or SolidWorks is an advantage.
Customer Communication & International Collaboration: Confident communicating directly with customers and asking the right technical questions. Comfortable working across international Sales, BDM, engineering and manufacturing teams across Europe, the USA and Asia.
Languages: Fluent English required; German and/or French is highly desirable.
Travel: Willingness to travel typically 25–35% across Europe, depending on customer and business needs.
