• Work as part of a self-organised engineering team to design and develop software features or services that are delightful and vital in our mission to help Britain prosper.

• Work with the product and engineering leads to achieve the vision and customer outcomes for your Lab, through writing well-factored and tested code.
• Be curious about technology and understanding how things work. You'll influence positively demonstrating the right values and behaviours as we improve how we deliver.
• Support and implementing production changes

What we’re looking for

• Strong programming skills with Java, Quarkus , Springboot components, RESTful APIs, microservices, Soap Based Webservices technologies and evolving new microservices build patterns.
• Hands on with frameworks - Quarkus Spring, Hibernate, NodeJS, Apache, Mockito
• Hands on Containerization and orchestration technologies - Docker, Kubernetes, Serverless
• Hands on DevOps tooling - Maven, GIT, Eclipse, IntelliJ, CI/CD tooling. Harness CI/CD harness
• Diverse technical experience and a proven ability to deliver high quality applications at scale
• Generative AI: GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT for code generation, documentation, and debugging.
• Able to effectively communicate and work together across engineering to maximise inner-sourcing opportunities, contribution model and reduce waste.
• Strong command of CI/CD practices. Pair Programming, TDD and BDD
• Additional frameworks and Libraries: Adobe Analytics, Dynatrace, Playwright , Lighthouse, Gatlin
• Strong domain experience in Authentication services, login patterns, SSO, OpenID connect, OAuth2.0, IDP, developer tools. Hands on login patterns adopted in LBG for Token Issuance, secure API calls, mobile SDK integration.
• Demonstrate a strong attitude and the technical capability to unblock cross‑team dependencies, acting as effective troubleshooters who remove execution delays.
• What you’ll get to learn (any previous experience would be advantageous)
• Working in the public cloud domain at scale, primarily with GCP and Azure
• Solving real world problems and being comfortable working in a complex regulated environment
