About this opportunity

Are you ready to take the next step in your career and make a meaningful difference, helping agricultural businesses prosper, grow and thrive?

As an SME Relationship Manager, you’ll manage a portfolio of approximately 100 agriculture client groups. You’ll connect with clients face to face and through Microsoft Teams, proactively meeting around seven clients each week to understand their businesses, identify emerging needs and help them consider their options.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with agriculture clients, providing tailored support based on their business needs and financial goals.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen relationships through relevant products and services, involving product specialists where appropriate.
  • Assess and manage credit risk, preparing credit papers for new facilities and renewals using the Bank’s established tools.
  • Help clients consider how they could make their businesses more sustainable, in line with the Group’s environmental, social and governance responsibilities.
  • Work with service and delivery colleagues to resolve requests effectively and help clients understand the available service model.
  • Represent the Group in meetings with professional partners and intermediaries, while supporting collaboration and the adoption of tools that improve the client and colleague experience.
  • About us / Why Lloyds Banking Group
  • We’re on an exciting journey to transform our Group and the way we’re shaping finance for good. We’re focusing on the future, investing in our technologies, workplaces and colleagues to make our Group a great place for everyone.

What you'll need

Relationship Management: To be seen as the “go to” banker in their geographic area of responsibility. Maintaining a high profile with external influencers and the local business community to achieve the Bank’s stated aim of being the best bank for clients.

Growing the Franchise: A track record of winning new business in a competitive environment within corporate or commercial banking, alongside a broad established network within the local Cardiff Commercial market.

Writing a Credit Deal: The ability to prepare clear, accurate credit papers for new lending facilities and renewals, applying established policies and tools.

Credit Risk: The ability to assess and manage credit risk, balance potential value with business outcomes and recognise emerging issues.

Critical Thinking: The ability to evaluate information objectively, identify gaps or underlying causes and reach practical, evidence-based conclusions.

Collaboration: The ability to work effectively with product experts, service colleagues, professional partners and intermediaries to deliver joined-up client outcomes.

And any experience of this would be really useful

Product Knowledge: Experience using knowledge of financial products and services to help business clients consider suitable options.
