Job Overview

The Analyst, Supply Chain Cost Optimization finds, sizes and tracks cost savings across Leslie's supply chain, including freight, distribution center labor, and other operating spend. You will build cost-to-serve models, explain where and why cost varies across the network, and keep an auditable scorecard of the savings we deliver.

This is an operations-facing role; you will spend real time with Engineering, Distribution and Logistics teams, learning what drives the numbers before recommending a change. The work feeds directly into the supply chain's cost optimization priorities. The role requires strong analytical skills, Supply Chain experience, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver data-driven insights that support strategic decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Cost-to-serve modeling: Build and maintain cost-to-serve models covering freight, DC handling and labor, and inventory carrying costs, by channel, DC and store.
  • DC labor cost analysis: Analyze labor cost per unit, overtime, and temporary labor mix by site and period, using timekeeping and payroll data. Support the DC labor diagnostic with Supply Chain Engineering.
  • Opportunity sizing: Size cost reduction opportunities with clear baselines, assumptions and sensitivities, so leaders can compare them side by side.
  • Savings tracking: Own the supply chain cost improvement tracker, including baselines, forecast and realized savings, and status by initiative, updated on a regular cadence.
  • Pilot measurement: Design before-and-after measurement for pilots such as delivery frequency or staffing-model changes, and report results.
  • Cost reporting: Build recurring cost dashboards in Power BI for supply chain leaders and DC directors, consistent with the team's data and KPI standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, Distribution, Logistics, and Finance teams to align supply chain strategies and business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Finance, Economics, Business Analytics or a related field
  • 2–4 years of analytics experience in supply chain, logistics, operations, or cost analysis
  • Strong Excel skills, including financial and operational modeling, pivots and lookups
  • Working SQL for pulling and joining data from multiple systems
  • Experience with Power BI or a similar BI tool
  • Ability to explain cost drivers clearly to operations leaders, and to defend your assumptions
