About Leverage

Reaching the right people has never been harder. Nonprofit donor files are shrinking, campaigns can’t afford to waste a dollar, and agencies are tired of vendors who disappear after dropping off a list. Too many organizations are paying more and getting less.

We started Leverage in 2024 to change that. We’re a social good data company that helps campaigns, nonprofits, charities, and other mission-driven organizations find their people. We turn behavioral, demographic and donor data into strategy, and our AI-powered models predict who is most likely to engage and convert. The result is less waste, better ROI and a real edge in competitive markets.

The Role

We’re hiring a Group Account Director to own the day-to-day relationship with some of our biggest client and agency accounts. Our customers include major political campaigns, well-known nonprofits and charities, and other organizations looking for new supporters to fuel their missions. You’ll own both strategy and execution, with a clear focus on client satisfaction and retention.

You’ll need to be comfortable moving between big-picture thinking and hands-on work quickly. In one day you might brainstorm a new product line from client feedback, help a nonprofit plan its annual donor acquisition strategy, and then get a rapid response text out the door for a campaign. If that sounds energizing, please apply, even if you don’t meet every qualification below.

Quick Facts

  • Title: Group Account Director
  • Reports to: Chief Client Officer
  • Location: Remote, with occasional travel
  • Type: Full-time
  • Compensation: $110,000 to $125,000 OTE (base plus bonus when you and the company hit assigned goals)

What You’ll Do

  • Manage communication with long-standing clients and prospective new business
  • Give clients sound, strategic guidance on using Leverage’s products to acquire supporters
  • Run SMS rental campaigns end to end: strategy, mobile verifications, contracting, platform setup, audience targeting, creative deployment, QA and reporting
  • Run email list modeling campaigns end to end: strategy, contracting, audience targeting, QA, delivery and reporting
  • Prioritize inbound campaign requests, including rapid response, while delivering top-tier service and respecting our capacity and sending calendar
  • Share customer feedback across the company and use it to improve how we work and what we build
  • Partner with our executive, operations, and data teams to strengthen Leverage’s product offerings

What We’re Looking For

  • 2 to 5+ years of client management experience in the fundraising space, ideally with political, nonprofit, or charity accounts
  • A solid grasp of digital fundraising basics. Hands-on experience running digital fundraising programs is a major plus, and offline mass market fundraising experience is a plus too
  • Experience with mass marketing SMS tools such as Switchboard, Scale to Win, Tatango or similar
  • Experience with some additional fundraising tools, like donation processors (ActBlue, FundraiseUp, Anedot, Classy) and CRMs (EveryAction, Action Network, ActionKit, Substack)
  • Real interest in both high-level strategy and getting into the weeds of planning and launching campaigns and deliverables
  • Comfort in a growing startup where responsibilities shift with company priorities and customer needs. No two days are alike
  • A self-starter mindset. You’re at ease building the plane while flying it, and you can work through complicated client and business problems without a set playbook (you may even help write it)
  • Willingness to sell. This isn’t a pure sales role, but you’ll handle inbound inquiries and renew accounts with additional services that help clients succeed
  • Availability for nights and weekends during peak periods, or as part of a rotating on-call schedule

What We Offer

  • Compensation of $110,000 to $125,000 OTE, with a variable annual performance bonus when you and the company hit assigned goals
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance with premiums 100% covered by Leverage
  • 401(k) with a 100% match on your contributions up to 4% of salary
  • 4 months of paid maternity/paternity leave
  • Unlimited vacation with an enforced two-week minimum (heads up: there may be blackout periods around elections and year-end)
  • Up to $100 per month for gym or fitness
  • Up to $100 per month for cell phone and internet
  • Up to $250 per month for a co-working membership

Life at Leverage

We’re a fully remote startup, and you’d be joining on the ground floor of a company building a suite of solutions to help organizations change the world for the better. We take the work seriously, and we also think it’s a lot of fun. When something needs solving, it’s often all hands on deck, so a lot will be expected of you, but you’ll have real support too.

We care about the people doing this work. That’s why we enforce a two-week minimum on vacation and cover fitness costs. Our schedule is flexible, which matters because this won’t always be a 40-hour week.
