About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior FP&A Consultant who understands nonprofit finance and enjoys making complex financial processes easier to manage.
You’ll use Limelight FP&A software to improve budgeting, forecasting, grant planning, and financial reporting. Working closely with finance, program, leadership, and technology teams, you’ll turn business requirements and manual spreadsheets into connected financial models, reports, and dashboards.
This role combines hands-on financial analysis, software implementation, and consulting. It’s a great fit for someone who can build a strong financial model and explain how it works to people outside finance.
What You’ll Do
- Build and improve financial planning models. Configure Limelight models, planning templates, and dashboards around the organization’s funding, programs, and reporting needs.
- Simplify grant and donor planning. Develop models for multi-year grants, multiple donors, co-funded programs, and restricted and unrestricted funding.
- Automate nonprofit financial reporting. Build Statement of Activities reports that reflect revenue recognition, releases from restrictions, and expenses allocated across programs and functions.
- Create budgets and rolling forecasts. Help teams plan revenue, workforce, operating expenses, and program costs, with visibility into cash runway and funding needs.
- Deliver useful variance analysis. Develop budget-versus-actual reports that explain what changed, why it changed, and where action is needed.
- Connect financial systems and data. Work with finance and technical teams to bring ERP and program data into Limelight accurately and consistently.
- Support reporting and compliance needs. Align planning models and reporting structures with applicable Indian nonprofit requirements, including FCRA, CSR, and 12A/80G frameworks.
- Guide stakeholders and support adoption. Gather requirements, explain recommendations clearly, and help finance and program teams confidently use the new models and reports.
What You’ll Bring
- Nonprofit finance experience
- Strong knowledge of fund accounting, grant budgeting, donor reporting, utilization certificates, and expense allocation.
- Experience planning and reporting across programs, grants, funds, and departments.
- FP&A skills
- Strong experience in financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and management reporting.
- Hands-on experience implementing or administering an FP&A platform or ERP systems such as Sage Intacct, Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics and others.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience turning spreadsheet-based processes into automated planning models.
- An understanding of multidimensional models, planning workflows, and data validation.
- Communication and consulting skills
- Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to present recommendations to senior leaders and global teams.
- Confidence gathering requirements from finance and program stakeholders.
- A practical approach to solving problems, improving processes, and helping people adopt new tools.
- The ability to manage priorities and take ownership of work from requirements through delivery.
Education and Experience
- 8+ years of relevant experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or financial consulting.
- At least 3 years of experience in the nonprofit, development, or social impact sector.
- CA, MBA in Finance, CMA, CFA, or an equivalent advanced finance qualification.
- Why Join Us?
- At Limelight, you’ll work with a collaborative team of finance and technology professionals who enjoy solving problems and helping customers succeed. We value clear communication, shared learning, and taking ownership—and welcome ideas that help us improve.
