Description

Sales & Growth Leader UK

Marsh Health & Benefits

Role Overview

As a Partner/Managing Director level leader in the Health & Benefits business, you’ll be joining an industry leader provider of employee benefits and advisory solutions. We’ll give you the accountability to drive the sales processes and revenue generation that impacts a team of 1,000 colleagues in the UK and offshore locations.

You’ll leverage your experience in the employee health & benefits sector to set the standard for commercial activity across Benefits Broking and Consulting, Advisory and our digital platform, Darwin.

The Sales & Growth Leader is accountable for driving enterprise revenue growth across all business models and segments. This role owns the execution of the growth strategy, drives transformation from benefits broking and consulting to advisory and digital services, whilst preserving and growing our core broking activities and manages the capability and capacity required to achieve aggressive growth targets.

Key Accountabilities

Revenue Growth Ownership: Own the growth of total enterprise revenue with explicit P&L accountability. Accountable for year-on-year growth targets across core broking, consulting, advisory, and digital service lines.

Business Model Transformation: Working with the Transformation Leader, support the strategic shift from broking to higher-margin consulting, advisory and digital services. Own the transition plan: define capacity reallocation targets, conversion metrics (broking $ to advisory $), staffing models, and automation ROI.

Sales Leadership & Oversight: Provide assertive sales management oversight of all segments. Segment Growth Leaders will have joint reporting to you and their Segment leader, with you as their dotted-line accountability for growth execution. Set sales priorities, coach segment leaders on advisory/digital selling, challenge underperformance, and override prioritization decisions when required to drive transformation targets.

Growth Team Management: Directly manage and be accountable for Enablement, Market Development, and Industry Verticals functions. Ensure these teams drive measurable impact on segment execution (not overhead). Set capability targets, track ROI, and redistribute resources based on segment performance and growth priorities.

Capacity Planning & Allocation: Manage the reallocation of resources from commodity work (renewals, admin) to higher-value advisory and digital work. Work with segment leaders on hiring plans, skills requirements, and development priorities. Partner with Operations/Tech on automation investment decisions and efficiency gains.

Execution Against Strategy: Translate growth strategy into executable segment plans with clear quarterly milestones. Ensure segment leaders have clear line of sight to growth expectations and the support required to execute. Escalate blockers and remove barriers to execution.

Close working with Insurer Consulting Group: Collaboration with ICG to maximise revenue growth opportunities via the ICA partnerships

Required Experience & Competencies

Growth Leadership: Demonstrated P&L ownership, revenue growth accountability, and business transformation

Industry knowledge: Experience gained in the Health & Benefits broking and/or consulting sector.

Sales Leadership: Experience managing sales organizations, driving revenue targets, and coaching sales leaders

Complex Organizational Navigation: Ability to work effectively across matrixed structures; comfort with ambiguity and competing priorities

Business Model Transformation: Track record of shifting organizational focus (e.g., product mix, service model, margin improvement) while managing execution

Capability Building: Experience building high-performing teams, identifying capability gaps, and driving organizational development

Execution Orientation: Pragmatic, results-focused mindset; ability to translate strategy into actionable plans and drive accountability
