Description
Who We Are
Oliver Wyman, a Marsh (NYSE: MRSH) business, is a management consulting firm driven by deep industry insight, bold innovation, and a collaborative approach that cuts through complexity to help organizations navigate their most defining transformative moments.
Clients approach us with their most significant challenges, and we assemble teams of experts to address each facet of these complex issues. Together, we create breakthroughs that lead to remarkable impact.
Role Overview
Oliver Wyman DNA team builds software products and solutions that aim to be re-used and adapted across different contexts or projects. Typical products span solutions that improve how financial institutions model and manage risk, how wealth managers run their advisory and client processes, how lenders perform credit analysis, and how retailers personalize digital marketing, among others. AI is a key component of all our solutions, and most of our products are either AI-native or largely AI-enhanced.
As Director of Product Management, you help grow one or more of these products. You work closely with the product’s ecosystem of partners and are accountable for the product itself: what it does, who buys it, why they keep using it, what it costs to run, what it earns, and where it goes next. You will work with products from initial idea (early-stage propositions still proving their first commercial case) to scale (established products carrying live client deployments and renewal commitments). Stakeholders are based in UK, Europe, India and US time zones.
Why Join Us?
Own real, impactful products, used inside the firm and by our clients, and be accountable for where they go next
Build products that materially improve how major institutions manage risk, advise clients, extend credit or reach their customers
Combine the rigor of a product business with the domain depth and client access of a leading consulting firm
Work directly with clients, partners and engineering leaders on decisions that matter
Thrive in a culture that values innovation, diversity and continuous growth
Key Responsibilities
Define the product vision, roadmap and backlog: what the product does, who it serves, and what gets built next.
Work closely with the consulting Partners, their teams and their clients to understand their needs and propose the right support and collaboration.
Support the sale directly, joining pitches, client conversations and pricing decisions where the product is in play.
Build deep understanding of the domain, the users and the competition, and use it to position the product and decide what to build, buy or partner for.
Contribute to the economics of the product alongside the Partners, covering pricing, packaging and licensing, as well as infrastructure and engineering spend.
Work with the team to keep quality and runtime at the right level: testing, release readiness, security, support and escalation.
Own the product narrative and the go-to-market package, and promote the product internally so that consulting, marketing, sales and delivery describe it the same way.
Turn feedback from clients, users and delivery teams into a prioritized enhancement path, and be clear on what is out and why.
Work with the wider product department on portfolio alignment, reuse of shared components and investment trade-offs, surfacing the hard choices early with options and a recommendation.
Run the product operating rhythm and track how the product performs, from revenue and pipeline to adoption, reliability and client satisfaction. Rebuild the product P&L, quantify the impact it creates for the DNA business, and present it with the Partners to the DNA leads.
Technical Skills and Expertise
Commercial Product Ownership
- Proven ownership of a software product used at scale, internally or sold to external clients, with accountability for its performance.
- Track record of defining and defending a revenue model, pricing and packaging, and of managing the trade-off between investment, margin and product ambition.
- Fluency with the numbers behind a product: able to rebuild a product-level P&L, defend the method behind it, and use it to demonstrate business impact.
Domain and Market Credibility
- Depth in at least one relevant business domain such as risk modelling, wealth and asset management, credit, banking, insurance, retail or digital marketing.
- Enough command of the business processes the product improves to make product calls with conviction.
- Experience running credible market and competitive analysis, and translating it into positioning, pricing and roadmap implications.
AI Product Judgement
Understanding of how AI changes product decisions, covering evaluation of non-deterministic outputs, accuracy thresholds, human oversight and readiness for client use.
Awareness of AI product economics, including inference and token cost per user, and how these shape pricing and unit economics.
Product Definition, Delivery and Quality
- Strong command of prioritization, feature definition, acceptance expectations and release planning.
- Experience working with engineers and architects on product definition, testing, release readiness, security and support needs.
- Knowledge of the support, SLA and maintenance model that a commercially sold product requires.
- Fluency with product and delivery tooling such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence or equivalent.
Go-to-Market, Sales Support and Communication
Experience building the product narrative, demo and go-to-market package that let a product be sold credibly.
Excellent written and verbal communication, and credibility in front of clients and partners.
Stakeholder Alignment and Trade-Off Management
Presence to convene Partners, sponsors, engineering leads and commercial teams, and to turn competing views into clear recommendations and decisions.
Experience working across a product portfolio on alignment, reuse of shared components and investment trade-offs.
Additional Technologies (nice-to-have)
Experience with enterprise SaaS or data and analytics products, particularly where the product embeds quantitative models or decisioning.
Understanding how to use agentic flows and the latest AI tooling to raise the productivity and quality of product and delivery work.
What Makes a Great Candidate
10+ years of product leadership experience or equivalent, having owned a commercially sold software product end to end, covering vision, roadmap, quality, pricing, cost base and growth.
Director-level credibility, with the presence to work directly with clients, partners and senior product and technology stakeholders.
Real domain depth in a relevant field, and the appetite to build more.
Experience taking AI into live, customer-facing products, and a clear view of what that requires. Having done so in a regulated environment, with the model risk, data privacy and explainability expectations that come with it, is a strong plus.
Proven ability to operate across product, engineering, delivery, marketing and commercial teams without formal authority over all contributors.
Strong judgement on when to push for product standardization and when to allow client-specific adaptation, with a clear view of what each exception costs.
Comfort with imperfect information, evolving scope and competing senior opinions, at any stage of product maturity.
Ability to make complex product and commercial trade-offs simple enough for busy stakeholders to act on, and the courage to name the hard choice.
Personal qualities including ownership mindset, curiosity, resilience, strong collaboration skills and a passion for excellence.
