Role Summary
Build the security agent that protects Mac endpoints. You will work close to the operating system, using Apple’s Endpoint Security and Network Extension technologies to detect and stop threats without slowing down the machine.
This is a remote position based in the United States. We are only considering candidates currently based in the United States and are not offer relocation at this time.

About the role
- Design, build, and maintain macOS security components using the Endpoint Security framework, System Extensions, and Network Extension.
- Process high-volume system events (file, process, and network activity) accurately and with minimal performance impact.
- Keep the product working through Apple’s yearly macOS releases, including changes to privacy, signing, and notarization requirements.
- Diagnose hard problems deep in the system using lldb, Instruments, and dtrace.
- Review code, mentor engineers, and contribute to architecture decisions.
- Work with QA, threat research, and product teams to ship reliable releases.
About you
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant time building for macOS (not only iOS).
- Hands-on experience shipping software with the Endpoint Security framework.
- Working knowledge of Network Extension and low-level networking on macOS.
- Strong command of Unix and Apple File System (APFS) behavior.
- Proficiency in Swift and in Unix system and API calls, plus C, C++.
- Familiarity with code signing, notarization, entitlements, System Integrity Protection, and TCC.
- Experience with XPC and launchd for background services.

Pay Range
The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $100,000.00/Yr. - USD $2,300,000.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.
