Lead Data Engineer

About the Role We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Lead Data Engineer to lead data migration, data engineering, and data governance initiatives supporting our next-generation Salesforce-powered Conversational Agentic ITSM Platform . This role is responsible for defining migration strategies, designing scalable data architectures, establishing governance frameworks, and leading teams responsible for migrating and integrating data from legacy platforms into Salesforce and Enterprise Service Management ecosystems.

The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in data engineering, data migration, cloud platforms, and enterprise data architecture with strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities. You will work closely with Salesforce Leads, Architects, Integration Teams, Business Analysts, and customer stakeholders to enable accurate, secure, and reliable data foundations that support AI-powered service experiences, enterprise automation, and business transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities Data Migration Leadership Lead end-to-end data migration initiatives supporting Salesforce and Enterprise Service Management transformation programs. Define migration strategies, migration roadmaps, cutover plans, reconciliation frameworks, and migration governance processes.

Assess legacy source systems and determine migration approaches aligned with business and technical objectives. Establish migration success criteria, validation processes, and quality checkpoints. Drive data cleansing, standardization, enrichment, and remediation activities to improve overall data quality. Act as the primary data migration lead across implementation and transformation programs. Data Architecture & Engineering Design scalable, secure, and high-performing data architectures supporting Salesforce and enterprise platforms.

Define data transformation, mapping, validation, and cleansing strategies. Develop reusable migration frameworks, ETL/ELT pipelines, and automation utilities. Establish Master Data Management (MDM) principles and enterprise data governance standards. Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, regulatory, and organizational governance requirements. Drive adoption of data engineering best practices across projects. Salesforce & ITSM Data Enablement Lead migration and transformation of: Incident Records Service Requests Change Records Problem Records Knowledge Articles CMDB Data IT Asset Management Data User and Organizational Hierarchies Support Team Structures Service Catalog Data Partner closely with Salesforce Architects and Leads to ensure alignment with Salesforce data models and platform design.

Support data readiness activities for Agentforce, AI-powered workflows, reporting, analytics, and automation initiatives. Team Leadership & Governance Lead and mentor Data Engineers and Senior Data Engineers across multiple workstreams. Establish data quality KPIs, migration success metrics, and governance frameworks. Conduct stakeholder reviews, executive reporting, and risk assessments. Drive issue resolution, dependency management, and mitigation planning.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement, automation, and engineering excellence. Collaboration & Delivery Collaborate with Architects, Integration Developers, Salesforce Developers, Business Analysts, and Quality Analysts. Support effort estimation, sprint planning, release planning, and project governance activities. Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of data migration and engineering workstreams. Participate in solution reviews and enterprise architecture discussions.

AI & Innovation Support data foundations for Agentforce, Data Cloud, AI-driven automation, and conversational service experiences. Contribute to enterprise data strategy and modernization initiatives. Evaluate emerging data technologies and recommend innovative approaches to improve scalability, quality, and operational efficiency. Drive automation opportunities across migration, validation, and governance processes. Required Qualifications Must Have 7–10 years of overall IT experience.

Minimum 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Migration, or Data Architecture roles. Experience leading enterprise-scale data migration initiatives. Experience supporting Salesforce implementations and transformation programs. Strong understanding of Salesforce data models and platform architecture. Deep expertise in: Data Engineering Data Migration ETL/ELT Development Data Quality Management Data Governance Data Warehousing Master Data Management (MDM) Experience working in Agile, Scrum, and DevOps-driven delivery environments.

Strong stakeholder management, leadership, and communication skills. Experience managing migrations from legacy ITSM platforms. Strong knowledge of: CMDB IT Asset Management Service Management Processes Enterprise Data Governance Experience working with multi-cloud and enterprise-scale data environments. Experience supporting large-scale Digital Transformation initiatives. Exposure to Generative AI, Data Cloud, and intelligent automation initiatives. Experience building enterprise data platforms supporting analytics and machine learning workloads.
