What you’ll do
We’re MiQ, a global programmatic media partner for marketers and agencies. Our people are at the heart of everything we do, so you will be too. No matter the role or location, we’re united by our vision to lead the programmatic industry and make it better.
As a Data Engineer II, you’ll help drive the design, development, and maintenance of integrated data workflows across our enterprise applications. You’ll build automated, scalable, and robust data pipelines across systems.
In this role, you will
•
Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain reliable data pipelines across enterprise systems.
•
Build reusable and scalable workflows for ingestion, transformation, validation, aggregation, and delivery of data.
•
Implement data-quality checks, automated tests, monitoring, alerting, observability, and operational runbooks.
•
Investigate data discrepancies, failed workflows, schema changes, performance issues, and reporting inconsistencies across upstream and downstream systems.
•
Apply leading practices for data engineering, data integration, data management, security, privacy, governance, performance, and cost efficiency.
•
Contribute to reusable engineering utilities, modular orchestration patterns, documentation, and continuous improvement of DataOps practices.
•
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, sprint planning, incident resolution, and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Who are your stakeholders?
- Key stakeholders include Product, Data Science, Analytics, Application Engineering, Platform, Cloud, and MLOps teams. You’ll work with them to define requirements, build integrated data solutions, and support reliable production workflows.
- You’ll ensure that data products follow enterprise standards for data architecture, data quality, security, privacy, governance, and business operations, while remaining trusted, compliant, and fit for purpose.
What you’ll bring
•
2–3 years of experience in data engineering and data integration, with hands-on exposure to building and managing data pipelines on cloud platforms (AWS preferred; Azure or GCP acceptable).
•
Extensive hands-on experience with PySpark notebook development, preferably on Databricks, and advanced SQL for building and optimising large, high-throughput data pipelines.
•
Strong working knowledge of the modern lakehouse stack, including Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables (DLT), and Unity Catalog.
•
Solid understanding of data modelling, schema evolution, and data transformation techniques, with a strong focus on data quality, reliability, and integrity.
•
Experience working within SDLC, release management, and incident management processes using Bitbucket or GitHub, JIRA, and change-management workflows. Familiarity with DataOps fundamentals—including version control, code reviews, testing, and CI/CD—is expected.
•
Good understanding of infrastructure components such as clusters, nodes, compute, and storage, with the ability to run and tune data pipelines cost-effectively.
•
Familiarity with data health monitoring, including pipeline freshness, completeness, quality checks, success rates, alerting, and root-cause analysis.
•
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to anticipate roadblocks, diagnose production issues, and develop effective solutions.
•
Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work comfortably with a wide variety of business and technical stakeholders across regions.
