As the IT Manager- Asset Management reporting to the Head of IT - Service Delivery and Operations, you will lead the governance and operational assurance of IT asset management across the organisation. You will oversee the Software Asset Management (SAM) and Hardware Asset Management (HAM) capabilities, ensuring software licensing and end-user device administration are controlled, effective and aligned to business priorities. You will set policy, define and enforce standards, and ensure that hardware, software and licensing are appropriately managed from request through to disposal.

You will own the business requirements, priorities, data and control outcomes for IT asset management, with particular accountability for the ServiceNow SAM and HAM modules. Working with the relevant ServiceNow technical teams, you will translate operational and control requirements into effective platform configuration, automation and reporting. You will collaborate closely with Infrastructure, Service Delivery, Security, Procurement, Regional IT, Facilities and Finance to improve data quality, strengthen accountability and provide trustworthy insight for strategic and operational decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Define, maintain, and enforce enterprise-wide HAM and SAM policies, standards, and lifecycle controls (request, procure, receive, deploy, support, retire, dispose).

Establish, maintain and actively enforce clear RACI and accountability across IT, Procurement, Security, Finance, Facilities, Regional IT, business units and Partners. Chair or contribute to governance forums, resolving ownership gaps and driving ongoing adherence rather than treating accountability as a one-time exercise.

Embed standardised processes for hardware and software onboarding/offboarding, ensuring security, data protection, and financial controls are applied at each stage of the lifecycle.

Own remediation of ITAM-related audit findings and maintain continuous audit readiness across regions and suppliers.

Own the quality of IT asset data in ServiceNow and other authoritative asset repositories. Define data standards, ownership, reconciliation schedules and automated validation controls to ensure accuracy, completeness and reliability.

Own the business requirements, priorities and control outcomes for ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM) and Hardware Asset Management (HAM). Work with ServiceNow platform and technical teams to implement and configure effective workflows, automation, self-service, controls and reporting.

Monitor and mitigate ITAM risks, including licensing, contractual, security, and financial exposure; escalate and track risk remediation plans to closure.

Oversee software licence governance including entitlements, renewals, true-ups, and optimisation to avoid non-compliance and reduce cost.

Partner with Procurement and Finance to align on forecasting, budgets, renewals, and supplier performance; ensure commercial terms support governance objectives.

Drive sustainable asset practices and track end-of-life handling and environmental compliance.

Create and maintain a unified KPI and governance dashboard; publish performance, compliance, and risk metrics to stakeholders with clear actions.

Report ITAM performance, risks, control weaknesses and improvement priorities to IT leadership in a timely manner. Demonstrate how ITAM outcomes support wider business objectives, communicate measurable improvements and escalate issues requiring leadership action.

Develop knowledge articles, work instructions, and training to enable first-time-right execution by support teams and end users; lead change adoption activities.

Lead, coach and develop the SAM and HAM teams and colleagues supporting ITAM operations across regions and functions, ensuring the specialist capability required for software licence management and end-user device administration.
