About the Role

As our National Contract Governance & Assurance Manager, you will oversee governance, compliance and assurance across a portfolio of major national contracts, including complex government contracts.

This is a role for someone who can bring structure to complex requirements, build effective systems and drive accountability across a national operation.

You will translate contractual obligations into clear actions, controls and reporting requirements, working closely with Business Managers and functional teams across Australia to ensure commitments are met, evidence is maintained and risks are addressed.

While operational teams are responsible for contract delivery, you will provide the oversight needed to ensure requirements are understood, actions are completed and issues are escalated when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain contract obligation, compliance and assurance registers.
  • Monitor contractual KPIs, deliverables, deadlines and evidence requirements across national operations.
  • Identify compliance gaps, overdue actions and emerging risks, ensuring issues are followed up and escalated where required.
  • Coordinate regular and ad hoc client reporting, ensuring information is accurate, complete and supported by evidence.
  • Analyse and validate operational, workforce, training, compliance, HSE and incident data.
  • Lead the coordination of governance meetings, reporting packs, minutes and action registers, tracking actions through to completion.
  • Maintain contract-specific training matrices and audit-ready records.
  • Support internal, client and external audits by ensuring records, controls and evidence are readily available.
  • Work with Business Managers and functional teams to clarify contractual requirements, strengthen accountability and resolve gaps.
  • Continuously improve governance processes, reporting, templates and controls to support consistent contract assurance nationally.

Skills & Experience

We are looking for an experienced professional who combines strong analytical and governance skills with the confidence to challenge, influence and drive outcomes.

You will bring

  • Experience in contract assurance, compliance, governance, quality, contract management or a similar complex environment.
  • The ability to interpret detailed contractual or regulatory requirements and turn them into practical controls, actions and reporting processes.
  • Strong analytical and data-management skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel and the ability to identify gaps, trends and inconsistencies.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and multiple reporting deadlines.
  • Strong written communication skills, including the preparation of reports, governance documentation and professional correspondence.
  • Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and operational teams, following up on commitments and holding people accountable.
  • Sound judgement to assess risks, resolve issues and determine when escalation is required.
  • Strong stakeholder-management skills and the ability to work effectively across geographically dispersed teams.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach, with experience improving systems, processes and controls in complex environments.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance, as required.
  • Experience with Australian Government contracts, security, defence, facilities management, aviation or other highly regulated industries will be highly regarded. Familiarity with quality assurance and audit frameworks is also an advantage.
