What you'll do
As Vice President, Programme Manager at MUFG in London, you will be responsible for orchestrating the successful delivery of medium to large-scale projects within the Digital Engineering Service Portfolio. Your day-to-day activities will involve coordinating diverse work streams across EMEA and global operations while ensuring that synergies are maximised for optimal outcomes. You will partner closely with senior stakeholders from various departments to guarantee compliance with internal policies as well as external regulatory requirements.
By overseeing analytical outputs and forming actionable recommendations grounded in robust business rationale, you will drive consensus among functional partners. Running steering committees and cross-functional working groups will be central to your role; you’ll ensure accountability for actions taken against planned timelines. Managing implementation deliveries requires transparency regarding risks, issues, dependencies—and alignment with business owners—while developing detailed project plans that incorporate input from all participants.
You’ll monitor budgets meticulously and provide concise updates on financial progress. Maintaining RAID logs alongside business justification documents ensures comprehensive status reporting. Engaging key staff across technology teams enables accurate reporting from golden source tools like General Ledger or PPM systems. Your ability to foster collaboration among consultants/contractors (2-3 direct reports) will be crucial for achieving programme objectives.
- Co-ordinate multiple projects and work streams across wider programmes to ensure synergies are identified and optimised for maximum efficiency.
- Partner with key stakeholders across the first and second lines of defence to ensure compliance with firm policies, frameworks, external regulatory expectations, and industry standards.
- Oversee analysis outputs and form clear recommendations based on sound business rationale while fostering consensus and collaboration among functional partners.
- Run steering committees and cross-functional working groups as required, ensuring accountability of actions against planned timelines through effective management.
- Act as a trusted partner to functional stakeholders and the Planning department by providing updates, addressing issues, and facilitating consensus in project delivery.
- Manage implementation deliveries by ensuring transparency of risks, issues, dependencies, and alignment with functional or business owners throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop detailed project plans incorporating inputs from all participants and report on status of deliverables using golden source tools such as General Ledger and PPM systems.
- Monitor project costs against budget parameters and provide concise status updates on financial progress to all relevant stakeholders.
- Create and maintain RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies), Business Justification documents, and comprehensive status reporting activities.
- Engage key staff in Technology teams as well as other impacted departments to ensure accurate point-in-time reporting generated from reliable sources.
