Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Business Analyst to report to the Director of Solution Architecture and work as a close delivery partner in transforming securities trading technology and operating processes. The role provides essential business analysis and solution-design capacity for trading initiatives, new product approvals, onboarding, workflow changes, and management reporting that require coordinated execution across Front Office, Operations, Technology, Risk, Data, Architecture, and other control partners.
The successful candidate will combine strong business analysis discipline with practical knowledge of securities trading, securities lending, collateral management, risk, trading platforms, and books of record. The role will also own the development and governance of architecture diagrams, process flows, requirements, and other approved artifacts so that project teams, stakeholders, and auditors can readily access trusted documentation.
By strengthening delivery capacity and backup coverage, this position will help reduce dependency on a small team, improve stakeholder support, and enable active and planned initiatives to progress with greater speed, consistency, and control.
Role Responsibilities

- Partner with the Director of Solution Architecture to shape and execute the roadmap for securities trading technology and process transformation.
- Provide business analysis and solution-design support for trading initiatives, new product approvals, onboarding, and workflow changes.
- Lead discovery, requirements elicitation, current-state assessment, gap analysis, and future-state design across front-, middle-, and back-office workflows.
- Analyze trade lifecycles spanning securities trading, securities lending, repo and financing, collateral management, position and inventory management, settlement, accounting, and risk.
- Translate business objectives into capabilities, process flows, functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, source-to-target mappings, test scenarios, and traceability artifacts.
- Develop, maintain, and govern current-state and target-state architecture diagrams, process flows, system-context views, and supporting solution-design documentation.
- Ensure approved artifacts are accessible, version controlled, reusable, and suitable for project governance, stakeholder review, onboarding, and audit requests.
- Define data ownership, lineage, quality rules, controls, reconciliation requirements, and authoritative sources for positions, transactions, reference data, pricing, collateral, and risk.
- Identify and prioritize process-automation opportunities across trade booking, security setup, reconciliation, collateral processing, risk monitoring, and exception management.
- Evaluate vendor and internal solution capabilities, analyze integrations, challenge assumptions, and support platform rationalization and implementation decisions.
- Coordinate delivery across Front Office, Operations, Risk, Finance, Compliance, Data, Architecture, Engineering, and vendor teams.
- Develop management reporting covering delivery progress, dependencies, decisions, risks, capacity constraints, and measurable business outcomes.
- Support testing, operating-model change, cutover, production readiness, and post-implementation stabilization.
- Provide dependable backup coverage across active and planned initiatives, reducing operational dependency on a small team.
Experience & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of securities trading, securities lending, repo and financing, collateral management, settlement, and associated risk and control processes.
- Experience with trading platforms, position and inventory systems, risk engines, accounting platforms, subledgers, and books of record.
- Understanding of Investment Book of Record, Accounting Book of Record, position keeping, inventory, security master, and reference-data concepts.
- Business and solution analysis skills including requirements elicitation, process modelling, architecture documentation, data mapping, gap analysis, impact assessment, user stories, acceptance criteria, and traceability.
- Practical knowledge of data governance, data lineage, data quality controls, reconciliation, critical data elements, and authoritative data sources.
- Experience defining API, messaging, batch, file, and event-driven integration requirements.
- Experience identifying and delivering workflow automation and straight-through-processing opportunities.
- Ability to use SQL and data analysis or visualization tools for investigation, validation, and reconciliation.
- Familiarity with platforms such as Bloomberg, Murex, ION, Broadridge, FIS, TLM, or comparable trading, post-trade, collateral, and accounting solutions.

- Demonstrated experience working directly with front-office trading teams to understand trader workflows, translate business needs into technology and process requirements, and coordinate delivery with Operations, Risk, and Technology partners.
- Ability to connect business, operational, risk, data, architecture, and technology perspectives and convert complex needs into practical solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes, control gaps, delivery risks, and dependencies.
- Strong stakeholder management, workshop facilitation, written communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to produce clear diagrams and concise written artifacts for business, technology, executive, governance, and audit audiences.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and advance complex initiatives in partnership with a senior technology leader.
- Experience collaborating with vendors and multidisciplinary teams through design, testing, implementation, and production readiness.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accessible, accurate, approved, and reusable documentation.
- Ability to provide reliable backup coverage, transfer knowledge, and reduce key-person dependency.
