The EMC Simulation & Design Engineer will be responsible for the following: Co-Own the virtual EMI/EMC roadmap: define the modeling architecture and workflows for standard tests such as Conducted Emissions (CE), Radiated Emissions (RE), Conducted Immunity (BCI), and Radiated Immunity (RI) across product lines. Build a scalable hybrid simulation workflow: partition problems across quasi-static extraction, PEEC/MTL cable modeling, full-wave 3D EM, and circuit co-simulation, choosing the right physics fidelity per frequency band and geometry scale.
Lead correlation and validation campaigns: design correlation experiments and quantify model accuracy and establish acceptance criteria and model governance. Provide actionable EMC guidance during architecture, schematic, layout, and mechanical integration to prevent issues before prototype builds. Partner with test labs and suppliers: align virtual models with real fixtures; ensure vendor component models are fit for simulation.
Research and development projects utilizing Vector network analyzer and other RF measurement equipment EMC chamber mapping, chamber uniformity, vehicle antenna pattern measurement, and vehicle antenna matching Correlation studies between vehicle tests, bench-level tests, and EMC test simulation Instructing/training other engineers in various simulation methodologies and tools development Basic Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program Minimum of 8 years of relevant engineering experience with demonstrated application of EMC/RF principles, electromagnetic modeling and simulation, and/or correlation of simulation results with physical test data.
Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: EMC testing, RF testing/design, electromagnetic modeling and simulation, or EMC/RF test-to-simulation correlation. PC literate, i.e., Microsoft tools and/or Google Suite Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills Good teamwork skills and ability to work independently Good communication and interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications: Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program Demonstrated experience utilizing virtual/simulation EMC tools and advanced EMC measurement equipment Familiar with RF test equipment, EMC methodologies, and/or EMC simulation tools Familiar with electromagnetic compatibility and/or RF environments Trained in the use of electrical/electronic RF test and analysis instrumentation, ie., power meters, receivers, spectrum analyzers, RF generators, Vector network analyzer, and/or time domain reflectometers Familiar with EMC simulation software, i.e., EMCoS/EMC Studio, Ansys, SPICE, and/or MATLAB
