Purpose

• Design, develop, test and support digital products across NAB’s internal engineering platforms as a full-stack engineer.
• Translate well-defined user stories into secure, reliable, scalable and maintainable production-ready solutions.
• Own assigned work from design through deployment across frontend, backend, automated testing and operational readiness.
• Collaborate with product, design, architecture, IAM, security and engineering teams to deliver consistent outcomes.
• Continuously improve technical capability, documentation, delivery quality and knowledge of NAB engineering standards.

Capability and Experience

• Full-Stack Experience:
• 2–5 years in software engineering with practical frontend and backend delivery experience.
• Frontend Development:
• Build accessible, Web SDKs, Elevate components and modern web technologies.
• Backend Development:
• Develop Java, Spring Boot and Gradle-based services, serverless functions and NABserv microservices.
• API Engineering:
• Implement RESTful APIs using contract-first design, OpenAPI specifications, versioning and governance standards.
• Testing:
• Create unit, component, integration and end-to-end tests using JUnit, Mockito, WireMock and frontend frameworks.
• Security:
• Apply secure-by-design practices including authentication, authorisation, mTLS, secrets, certificates and vulnerability remediation.
• DevOps:
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, containerisation, deployment, monitoring, structured logging and operational support.
• Architecture:
• Understand microservices, cloud-native development, API-led integration and maintainable software design.
• Delivery:
• Work effectively in Agile ceremonies, manage assigned items independently and escalate risks or blockers early.
• Core Behaviours:
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, stakeholder engagement and continuous-learning mindset.

Key Accountabilities

• Engineering Delivery:
• Design, build, test and deploy quality frontend and backend solutions that meet acceptance criteria.
• Platform Integration:
• Deliver NAB-X experiences and NABserv services with reliable navigation, authentication and integration.
• Quality & Security:
• Maintain automated tests, code-review discipline, secure coding and timely vulnerability remediation.
• Operational Excellence:
• Implement validation, error handling, logging and monitoring; support triage, defects and root cause analysis.
• Agile & Growth:
• Participate in team ceremonies, seek feedback, maintain documentation and share knowledge.
